Costello: Jets must get rid of disgruntled Le'Veon Bell immediately

The Jets made their impulse purchase in March 2019 when former general manager Mike Maccagnan gave Bell a four-year, $52.5 million contract despite the objections of coach Adam Gase, who wanted to allocate that money toward offensive linemen.

[Coach Gase being right.  Again.]

^Correct on this one.  But no one ever said or claimed that Gase was dumber than Maccagnan.  So even though Gase isn't as bad or dumb as Maccagnan, that doesn't save his ass.  The other 99.99% unadulterated suckance  is still applicable and he should escorted out of NJ as soon as possible.

I purposely copied and pasted this article even though I am a fan of Le'Veon Bell.

JD needs to come under fire for signing Frank Gore this was a bad signing as were others he is responsible for.

The NY Jets  RB's when healthy should be Bell and Perine.

Not a 37 yr old Frank Gore who I give all the credit in the world for trying to play at 37.

TIME TO MOVE ON FROM FRANK GORE would have been a better article for Brian Costello to write.

Frank Gore is a consummate professional who makes the minimum.

There's that word: disgruntled. I'm past being disgruntled as a Jets fan. I'm really working on it, man, I'm working on it. Now I just grunt. Baby steps.

That's backwards.  First comes the grunt.  Then the diss.

At what point do we stop blaming “these selfish SOBs who don’t wanna be here” and start recognizing the rot in this entire organization?

And they don't give a sh*t because every season dopes like you, me and the rest of us Jet fans are still here supporting the team no matter how bad they are.

Support. I mock them relentlessly and derive masochistic pleasure from doing so. Tomatoh/Tomahto.

Daniel Jacob Henry Woodhead

The Jets absolutely should’ve kept Woodhead over a guy like McKnight, but I’m still not punching holes in the wall over it.

The guy turned out to be a good 3rd down/change of pace back for 5 or so years.

Not exactly Walter Payton.

He was essentially Bilal Powell dipped in baby powder.

See, but we're all still here and watching all the games.  They could care less about the mocking.  The stadium is sold out (non-Covid times) and every year they get that boatload of cash from the NFL's TV deal.  They know the fools will always come back with new hope that the team will somehow turn itself around.  Whether it does or not is irrelevant to the Johnsons.

As I’ve said many times Johnsons might be the smartest NFL owners. They figured out a long time ago they can make more money with a cheap loser than an expensive winner.

I’ve got an idea, why doesn’t gase use Bell correctly?  Maybe then they’ll get some production. Target him in the passing game by using him in the slot like in Pittsburgh. Don’t just run him into the line on 2nd and 10. Call a good game now and then before deciding Bell is washed up.

Gase ran a slant for Gore yesterday (for some reason).  Gase ran wheelhouse passes for Gore last week.  So he is not averse to throwing to the RB.  If Gase thinks LeVeon lost it, then prove it.  Feature him in a game and line him up in the slot and so on.  I think Bell would do better than some of the terrible WRs and TEs in our team right now.

And Brian Coz saying that Bell is blocking Perine, rather than Gase is blocking Perine by playing 37 year old Gore instead is just incredibly stupid.

Gase just does not know how to use him. He doesnt adjust to his players he tries to force them to do what he wants.

Bell should be lining up as a receiver constantly.

The roster sucks. Gase adjusted plenty last season. We finished 6-2. Bell is a joke.  Snake oil salesman. Old and done.

All we are saying, is give Gase a chance.

I thought he looked pretty good yesterday. Not sure why we didn’t give him more touches. The biggest thing is why isn’t he a more focal point int the passing game? He’s got great hands and let’s be honest our receiving and tight end core r very bad

Le’Veon Bell feels like that impulse buy you make after a few too many drinks when you’re cruising around Amazon, hit the purchase button and then immediately realize it was a bad idea.

Change Bell to Gase and this is the real story

They also started 1-7, that's on him too.  They beat 1 team with a winning record and that was in week 17 when Buffalo sat everyone and the Jets barely won the game.  They also managed to lose to 2 win Cincinnati.
