No, as I've mentioned before I'm kind of a psychology geek and currently taking a cyberpsychology course and might cite the JN forums for some abnormal psych papers.  The derangement related to Manish is hilarious.  Just look at this thread.  I asked how funny/crazy it is that Manish is getting stories that other guys aren't despite not being credentialed and all of you maniacs are like "WhY dO YoU LikE MaNIsH"?

Meanwhile Manish was in front of a lot of these stories..  Wilkerson, jamal, the fact Gase is a horrific coach..  hes gotten some wrong but plenty right.

Must have been absent the day persecution complex was discussed.

Doubling down on my previous post calling out this BS.  Very Few people were even talking about Manish until you started a thread about him.  There’s one person here who is obsessed with the guy it’s not anyone other than you.

Yes, starting a thread about a New York Jets beat reporter on a New York Jets message board a whole entire 1 or 2 times per year is the very definition of "obsession".  LOL

Not to derail a great hatred thread, but was the Bell move widely cheered when it happened?  I don't remember it that way but I could be way off.  I thought it was more a 50/50 split

I was happy.  I thought that he would be a great asset.  Gase and Bell simultaneously proved me wrong.

Who said anything about being mistreated?  I think you may be the one who is unfamiliar with the proper use of the term.

Yeah, Manish is probably only batting around .500 with the stories he breaks, but the rest of the beat doesn't even get the bat off of their shoulder.

1.  He’s technically not a beat reporter anymore.  Y’know, credentials and all that jazz.

2.  When you start a thread under the premise of “why is everyone so obsessed with Manish” when you are the only one discussing the guy, yes, you are gonna get called out on it.  This is the third or fourth time, this year alone, that I’ve seen you defend the guy vehemently.  I can’t, off the top of my head, tell you it was in threads you started but you do seem obsessed with defending his honor.

Which is kinda the entire premise and question of the thread.  How does a guy with no credentials get stories that other guys with credentials don't.  Perhaps you believe this is a normal occurrence.  I can assure you it is not.

See above.  That was not the premise.  The premise was "how does a guy with no credentials get scoops that guys with credentials don't.

You should definitely take internet message boards more seriously. "Defending his honor"....LOL

I could check how many topics that he has commented on Mehta, in affirming the writer, but would get accused of "looking at his profile", like there are some secrets there.

But is it really the fans who have an issue with Manish when it’s the league who stripped his credentials with zero pushback from his colleagues or even his own employer? It would suggest that the grievances against Manish are real and justified.

Jets intensify efforts to trade Le’Veon Bell after Twitter tantrum

October 13, 2020 | 1:34pm | Updated

Le’Veon Bell may get his wish.

The Jets are actively trying to trade their disgruntled running back, a source confirmed. Bell took to Twitter after Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals and liked several tweets criticizing how coach Adam Gase utilized him. He liked one tweet that said the Jets should trade him.

Moving Bell will not be easy. He is owed about $6.4 million for the rest of the season. That number would drop to around $5 million by the Nov. 3 trade deadline. The Jets certainly would have to eat some of that salary to get a trade done. Bell, 28, has been a disappointment since signing a four-year, $52.5 million contract with the Jets in March 2019.

The marriage has felt doomed from the start. Former GM Mike Maccagnan signed Bell over objections from Gase, who preferred to invest the money in other positions. Those objections became public after Maccagnan was fired in May 2019. The two have repeatedly said there are no issues between them, but brushfires repeatedly come up.

The latest occurred after Bell only had one catch in Sunday’s game. He refused to speak to reporters after the game on a Zoom call and then had his Twitter tantrum. Gase said he understood Bell’s frustration but wished he had come to him instead of turning to social media to express it.

That may have been the final straw for Jets GM Joe Douglas, who had trade talks about Bell at last year’s deadline and also was open to trading him in the offseason. Now, it seems Douglas is trying harder to move Bell and possibly get a draft pick for him.

The team surely will cut Bell after this season. He has no more guaranteed money in his deal. If they cut him now, though, they owe him the rest of his 2020 salary and he would still have a $15 million salary cap charge.

Wholly agree.  No way he lost his credentials for reasons that were not justified if he wasn't able to fight it and get them back.

Which, again, makes it crazy that he beat other guys to the punch on this.  I legit thought he would never see another scoop after that.  I was wrong.

Would Bell will be willing to take pay cut now just to get away from Adam Gase?

The Jets are looking for a late-round pick and perhaps a middling player, according to sources.

The News reported earlier Tuesday that Bell told friends after last season that he would likely request a trade if things continued to go south this season. He also expressed uneasiness about Gase’s weekly game plans last year without complaining.

Now, it looks like things have been pushed to the brink.

Indicative of two things:

1. The Jets beat is populated by sub-30 year old kids who don’t seem to try all that hard at their jobs.

2. Manish has been carrying LeVeon’s water from the start, and it seems likely that he’s the clearinghouse for Bell’s agent.

This is correct.  I've commented a million times over trying to tell you guys that he has sources.  Turns out I was right then and still right now.  But I guess it's easier to insult somebody instead of "Oh, I was wrong and  you were right".

I'm honestly not sure what's on my profile but you spend a lot more time looking at it than I do so I'll take your word for it.

1. Coz and Cimini are a bit long in the tooth.

2. Possibly, but even if you're an agent and you have a regular "go to" beat guy, wouldn't you take him off your list when he loses his credentials?  Just seems odd.  And hilarious.

This just occurred to me:  We have not done well with cast offs from the Steelers.   Bell, Santonio, and Neil O'Donnell all brought varying levels of negativity and controversy.

McLendon the only good one in the group.

Delusion: an idiosyncratic belief or impression maintained despite being contradicted by reality or rational argument, typically as a symptom of mental disorder.

Keep it comin' bud.  Many thanks.

Honestly a win for both sides. Bell gets to go somewhere with a OC that will utilize him correctly and isnt incompetent. And Jets get a (day 3) pick for a RB we would have cut after the season.

Thanks Mac

I mean that's an awful lot to pay a RB who hasn't done much in the last two years going into what is likely a very tough cap year.

I mean, if I was looking to disseminate self-serving but anonymous info about the Jets, Manish has proven to be a reliable middleman for that type of thing. He was clearly doing it for Rex and then Maccagnan.

I wouldn't believe it until it happens. This is too easily a story being spread by one side to evoke a reaction. The Jets are shopping him to make him shut up so he doesn't scare off suitors or, far more likely, Bell's agent is spreading the story to get teams to take a look at Bell and call the Jets.

Steelers have a knack of knowing when to let players go, and when to res-sign them. Some would call that good management. Make me worry about Juju.

If you want information disseminated without much of forethought as to validity or credibility, then Manish is your man. Does he have sources (can't believe this ie even a thing)? Sure. Do his sources probably use him more than newsworthy info he gets? I definitely believe, yes. He is akin to a times square pro. Using and getting used simultaneously.
