Let's HOPE that the only reason CJ and Hymie will be involved is ONLY to provide extra caution (e.g. to say "no") should Gase try to pull off another "Becton, get back in there" type move.

This (I would hope as well).

In a normal NFL franchise, that order would come from JD.

But in the alternate universe that exists at Jets HQ in Florham Park, the owner AND the team president need to be the ones to do that.

God help us

For us folks who remember the classic show Get Smart.   Interactions between Max and Hymie were hilarious and priceless.

I use to watch re-runs of Get Smart on TV Land when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I don't remember Hymie, lol.

Reading this was the nail in the coffin for what I think of JD.

He isnt in charge. Period.

This is the structure

Johnsons

Hymie

Douglas - Gase

The only person making a decision on Darnold should be JD and the trainers and then Adam Gase should be coaching what he is given.

So we cannot even decide when he should return??? Are you ******* kidding me??? It is not that hard. This is getting worse and worse but one thing is for sure: CJ is worse than Woody, and I never thought I’d say that about anyone.

I hope this is calculated and has more to do with tanking/protecting the asset.

Hold Darnold out for the next four weeks (Bills, Chiefs, Pats). Ensures 0-9, then we plug him back in when the schedule gets softer so he can plump up his stats to increase his trade value.

Regardless of why, they clearly don't want Gase rushing him out there ASAP in an effort to save his job.

I'm not sure why everyone is losing their mind  over this.

If we fired Gase, would you want Gregg williams making this decision? Gase is pretty much gone and no one wants him making a decision like this. Whether it's to protect Darnold (for our future or for a trade) or protect our chances at the #1 pick, given our team's situation this is now a management decision.

Lol he didn’t tear his rotator cuff. I think this is a little overboard and exactly the type of idiotic extra curricular that the Jets love to indulge in when they aren’t losing 30-10 on Sunday’s.

It was a sprain.... which by definition can includes minor tears.

Either way, I heard he was doing better but still some pain so I'd expect him to remain out until he is pain free.
