Life cycle of opinions on JN:

1. “You’re a troll!”

2. “Ok it’s possible but not how you said it would.”

3. “Gee, looking likely but you’re still a troll.”

4. “Ok it happened but we all knew it was obvious from the start.”

5. “Stop beating a dead horse with that no brainer call.”

I feel like ya'll are waaaaay too obsessed with Lawrence. It's week 6, right?

A million things could happen to f*ck up the Lawrence dream.

I would really hold off on this stuff until late November, at the very earliest.

I’m sorry if there is something else for Jets fans to look forward to in October other than the draft we are all ears

Make as many threads as you want. The post wasn't directed at you in particular, or even the topic of the thread, for that matter.

But from reading post after post on this board, I just feel like way too many people are getting emotionally attached to the Lawrence dream at a very premature date. I think there is still a decent chance it doesn't happen, for a variety of reasons.

Ya most likely he calls audible “double bird” when jets secure top pick.

Lol - There are hurdles before that. Getting the top pick is far from guaranteed, IMO

It ain’t guaranteed just as the sun could explode in the next 6 hours. Although COVID could screw us that I will grant if NFL adopts some lottery hybrid system if season is cancelled.

All we need is the other 2 teams to do is win a game. I like giants chances this week... jets arent beating anyone.

I’d need odds—good ones—to bet on Jets to beat eggs for an omelet

Or he'll announce he's transitioning.

That'd probably result in a much less stressful and controversial life than being a Jets QB.

Scheduled to graduate in December. He might suddenly gain interest in a double major if Jets get top pick.

It might be the only time I'd recommend someone getting a degree in English Lit, if the alternative is playing for the New York Jets.

Physics tells us that it is extremely, extremely unlikely that the sun will explode in the next six hours.

ESPN’s current FPI model gives us a 42% chance to earn the top pick. Even if that is wildly conservative, I promise you that us missing out on the top pick is many orders of magnitude more likely than the sun exploding before you wake up tomorrow.

I’m just warning folks not to get invested too early. Long way to go.

It feels this way now, but statistically, you are likely to be wrong. 0-16 is always unlikely, almost regardless of how bad you are

My main concern is belly hands us a win week 17 if he has nothing to play for in order to keep Lawrence away from us. And we will be dumb enough to take it.

Seriously though, if I was his agent and the Jets were the #1 pick, I'd be calling Joey D. and tell him to trade the pick cuz we ain't a comin'

Let’s hope he hires P Diddy and not D Rosenhaus although we know it’ll be Rosenhaus.

Sure.

I’ll also add the Dolphins games to the list. Jets/Dolphins games are notoriously wild AF and I could easily see Fitzpatrick randomly throwing 4 interceptions to Desir. No one can tell me that they know with certainty the Dolphins are sweeping the Jets.

Then there’s also the fact that the Jets have a long established history of randomly beating a team you don’t expect them to beat and teasing you in the process. This team may be so bad that it isn’t capable of this. I’ll admit that. However, I still wouldn’t count this out as a possibility.

Lastly, it’s worth reiterating that we will probably lose all tie breakers since our schedule is so brutal.
