Gase Fired for Certain?

  1. 1. Regardless of my personal preference or what SHOULD happen, I am 100% certain Gase WOULD be fired if the Jets finish with a record of......

    • I don't think Gase would be fired even if they ended 0-16

Let's say Gase lasts until the end of the year and they don't make any in-season firings.

At what end-of-season record are you 100% certain Gase would be fired.  Not what record he SHOULD be fired at or what record YOU would fire him, but the record that you are 100% certain he would in actuality be fired

I went with 2-14. 3-13 isn't quite bad enough for Christopher Johnson to pull the trigger IMO, and I don't think 0-16 is going to happen.

Christopher Johnson getting rid of Adam Gase is like Herman Edwards getting rid of Damien Robinson. Ya could die before it happens.

Heh, speaking of Damien Robinson, this is what I think of this season:

If anyone cares . . . Does anyone care? No? No. OK (slumps sullenly, picks a scab). : /

His fate should already be sealed, but I could see the Johnsons brining him back if we get guys back from injury and have a 5-3; 6-2 second half Witha  couple of quality wins.  So I said 6 wins.

That said, it is hard to say that I am 100% sure of anything the Johnsons might do.

Based on Gase potentially pulling a Mike Shanahan/Robert Griffin III on Becton for i.e. any agent with their client's best interest in mind would advise them to drag out their recovery for as long as possible. It's ALWAYS about the money, even indirectly. It's not even like that's a stupid tack in the first place given the circumstances of the season. The Jets are not in the running for anything except a foot race to Sh itsville.

Amazingly, that team was MUCH more competitive than the 2020 Jets.  Despite going 0-16, the 2017 Browns were only outscored by 176 points that season.  4 other teams in Browns' history did worse in that category.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Jets are on pace to be outscored by 275 points.

Idk....I honestly don’t think it matters...this team isn’t good regardless of coach...we’re not winning more than 4 games and that’s being EXTREMELY Generous...we already know 0-16 is a legit possibility....with fans potentially coming back into the stands at MetLife next season somebody’s gonna have to fall on the sword for this miserable year....JD just got here....so Gase is the winner!

Not to mention they already signed up for the Tank prior to hiring Hue....before Hue showed his colors they knew it was gonna take a few years

The thing is it is no really about the record.

If the jets had 2 wins and had a decent looking offense, the games were close and there was lots of try then he might stay.

the offense has been utter trash while here and when he was in miami and the team is totally noncompetitive.

being outscored by 175 points over 16 games means you have to stick around and watch a few heartbreakers.

getting outscored by 275 means you can turn the game off early and enjoy your sunday.   which is better???

Depends.

For example, if the team is playing competitively down the stretch - some of that could be due to young players on the team playing well.  It would be really great if we could see guys like Becton, and Mims get back on the field this year and contribute.
