AFJF
Didn't include him in the preview because the guy may not even be active, but I will say this. If the run blocking this week is on par with last week, Johnson could open some eyes if he gets reps. One cut runner who hits the hold and has excellent speed. But, this is Gase so I don't think anyone would be shocked if Gore had 20+ carries while the kids split five or six carries between them. Hopefully Joe D. gets in Gase's ear and explains to him that it's time to evaluate the kids. Season is over. 2

BrickTamland
Ty Johnson is good. Not saying he’s great. But he’s certainly good enough to earn reps on this team.

No one realizes that Gore will get carries over the kids because he knows how to block to protect his QB. Unless someone like Johnson can protect the QB in which case he should get some carries so everyone involved can see what we have

Sarge4Tide
Johnson and Perine are the same type of player - Johnson might be faster and Perine a better all around back, but Johnson is fast and can catch - IF he is used right [a big IF], he can conribute - not be All Pro or anything, but contrbute

Yeah because lining up in the backfield for a run never gets changed at the line to a run. Gore got 6 and 9 carries in the 2 games Bell was available. When the option was inexperienced runners who arent as experienced Gore got more touches. I assume his touches will fall off as time goes on with the kids

joewilly12
Frank Gore needs to take a seat and Perine and Johnson need to handle the running game today.

Beerfish
I thought for sure this thread was going to be about the Wr in tampa we should have drafted this past year.

Not enough bandwidth for us to go through all of the receivers they didn't draft last year but should have.

jetstream23
Perine + Johnson need to have more combined touches then Gore. That would be the first positive sign that the Jets are starting to look forward instead of in the rearview mirror.
