BettyBoop
Woody and Chris. Chris and Woody. A Johnson by any other name is but a Johnson. There's a double entendre in there if you look closely. These two idiots have double handedly ruined this franchise for the last 20 years with their constant meddling. There's a basic business concept that says a leader should first off "know what they don't know". In the case of the Johnsons that is simply football. They don't know football. However, instead of hiring one person who knows football they hire several people, some football experts, others accountants, lawyers, headhunters and salesmen, put them all together and have them all report to them for a final decision. We have seen this over and over again and it is the MO of this organization that has failed them most. For example, who made the call to trade for Tim Tebow, only to never play him? Was it Rex? Not sure. Tannenbaum? Maybe. Woody? He probably doesn't even remember back that far. We'll never know for sure Let's take the latest example. While Woody was drinking tepid beer across the pond, Chris fires Todd Bowles, rightly so and keeps Mac, wrongly so. He lets Mac participate in choosing Bowles's replacement along with advice from a QB that spurned this team long ago, with additional input from the aforementioned lawyers, accountants and candlestick makers. He then allows Mac to sign $125mm in free agents including an expensive RB with star power whom the coach clearly did not want. Worse yet, it was clear that Mac (and Chris) were bidding against himself during the negotiations. Also, anyone who thinks Johnson was not all in on the signing is a fool. Chris wanted a shiny new toy to fill the back pages of the NY Post. Then in a move that can only be described as "Jetsy" Chris Johnson fires Mac an hour after he made all of the draft picks. Picks that were so bad, the new coach couldn't even stay in the draft room during the process. That my friends is an arranged marriage. And now Hymie is the new groom standing at the alter waiting for his new bride that will likely be picked by a team of dozens including many who absolutely hate this team. 2

The Johnsons are the root cause of all of the misery, past and present, in Florham Park and nothing will change until they are gone.

predator_05
Aren't all marriages 'arranged'? There's always some form of dialogue and negotiation, whether direct or through intermediaries. Western exceptionalism claims a superiority by dismissing 'arrangement', but it really makes little to no difference when the parties know what they signed up for, with the backing of close friends and family. Hymie signed up for this. A better description would be a 'shotgun wedding', but that's not the case here.
FidelioJet
Let's keep in mind they also hired a DC before Gase and forced said DC on the coach. It's a fully backwards way to run franchise!

Between the incompetent owners and the way the front office is set up, it's no wonder that top shelf coaches and players steer clear of this dumpster fire and we entrust inexperienced dopes to shape and coach the franchise. It's insanity!!
Larz
It’s all woody he ran away one of the best coaching staff’s in recent NFL history because they knew right away that he was a nightmare Teams are getting tired of a GM and coach working against each other (the groceries argument) to save their own butts so more teams are using the structure the Jets have. The Scott Pioli/ Haley debacle with the Chiefs made it more appealing to owners its all woody
