Smizzy
Mets | Boone: Start or Quit Wed, 22 Feb 2006 12:52:45 -0800 The New York Times' Ben Shpigel reports New York Mets 2B Bret Boone said he's either going to start at second base or quit. "When I start moving around positions, that's when I know it's time to really go home," Boone said . Great attitude.
R44
Based on the way he played in 2005, he's going to quit soon..... He was just awful the last few seasons and got awful real quick, which lends credence to the idea that he was a roids freak during his prime. Now that roids are being filtered out, expect the 1970's and 1980's to return -- second basemen that hit 20 HR's per season will be freaks.... Forget this garbage of every team having a 2B hitting 25 per season
4HCrew
The only way he is going to play is if he starts steroids again and quits drinking
GimmeShelter
Worth the shot by the Mets especially since Boone says he will go home if he doesn't win the job.
faba
This is typical shot to take a chance on a guy- no big deal if he does not make it- every team brings in nonroster guys to see if they find a gem
