This makes zero sense unless he’s a headache in the locker room and they don’t want him to be a part of the fresh start for the new coach.

Or he surprisingly gets a massive return but I think that’s less trying and more open to moving.

Does open the door for Mehta to hammer them either way though. Shouldn’t have traded him or they couldn’t even manage to trade him - and that second article only happens if there are heavy rumors.

If it is true, then it doesn't make much sense as the article states the jets don't even need a first round pick.  The guys is young, imprpoving and you just took him last year.  He is not worth the #3 pick overall, but he is an improving young player so why not make him part of the rebuild? And I am not even a big Quinnen fan, but I don't trade him unless you get blown over by an offer (a #2 and #5 is not good enough).

It's almost as though Manish would report something about the Jets he knows would not be well received.

From a stand point of trading QW, I just don't get it for lots of reasons, unless you think you can get a 1st rounder next year.  1.  He's played pretty damn well this year.  2.  You don't know who the coach or defensive coach will be next year and QW easily could be a very strong piece to a new HC/DC

Yeah^ this. Didn’t know the original report came from Manish before I posted so you guys take it with a grain of salt but it could be true.

Will wait and see if it happens and the details. No point in getting hyperplectic over rumors.

Q Williams is the type of player to build around, not trade. I can't believe this report.

Like him or not Joe Douglas is a cold Mothereffer....and that is exactly what you should want in a GM. I don't care about player's feelings or charisma or anything like that, if I can get a good price for you, you're gone.

This man looked Sam's parents in the eyes and said he was going to get an offensive line to protect him and weapons to help him perform better and then decided to tear the whole team apart to get the most coveted QB prospect in the last 5-10 years. That is badass.

How many times has that "insider" Manish Mehta reported this?

Why do we keep starting threads that Manish plants?

Makers not sense, hes playing well.  I could see them trading him if someone offers up something nice but shopping him?  Why?  And how would Manish know this?  Who told him in the parking lot that the trade looms?

Probably because douglas has no intention of paying him, like adams.

And now we’re seeing why they’re tanking this year.  Douglas is tearing it down and building it his own way.  He wants picks.  And if he can draft guys like beckton, mims and Perine, early returns are good.

if Q can clean up the roughing the passers and be a step quicker he could be a beast.  Keep him

Manish is a turd. Most of his articles make him sound like a disgruntled ex employee that has to constantly tell the world how bad the Jets are.

If you can get a 1st for him you take it and don't look back. He's playing well but it's 2020 and the NFL is about scoring points.

A lot of this.  You’re going to give up points.  You need to score.  You should be paying pretty good players Aaron Donald kind of money, and you definitely shouldn’t be paying Adams top money.

No way I’m trading him for anything less than a 1st round pick. If it’s a 1 I guess I’d move him if JD wants to bring his own guys in here

Nothing would surprise me but my initial reaction to this is that Douglas is leaking false information. He runs a tight ship, information doesn't get out unless it's a player publicly airing their grievances.

Unless Mehta get word from another organization that the Jets called them I'm guessing this is BS. Quinnen hasn't set the world on fire but what's his trade value right now? A 3rd? I don't see the point in selling low on a cheap young player.

He’s been much better this season.  unless we get a first round pick back trading him now is a mistake

It's Manish so I'll take it with a grain of salt, but if someone wants to unload a bounty of picks for Q then JD does probably entertain the offer.

I’m concerned that this indicates the Johnsons believe Mac is the only reason the jets suck now.
