Alk
jay cutler better be able to turn water into wine if we trade up to draft him... You're being too nice. I would say the Jets are closer to urine than water.

Scott Dierking
I don't believe that mangini is one to chase in the draft. he is more likely to let the draft come to him. At least I hope so
mr nyjet
What happened the last time the Jets made a major move to trade up? when dumbway gave up two 1's to the bears to get robertson! good thing we now have a real front office and head coach making decisions. Smizzy
We are in no position to combo picks and trade up. We have way too many holes to fill and way too many aging vets to replace to invest picks and all that money in Cutler...@ #2.

mr nyjet
3 yrs later. what, you expected him to actually know what he's doing? snyder, peterson, and al davis can attest otherwise.
The Troll
I do not want to trade up for Cutler. I do not want to trade up for anyone. If the Titans take Cutler, the Jets should either take D'Brick or trade down. It's quite simple, and I would be shocked if Mangini and Tannenbaum are dumb enough to mortgage the farm on Jay Cutler. We only have three ****ing cows to begin with.
sirlancemehlot
Mangini learned his craft from the master of draft-day smoke-and-mirrors. I expect a bunch of misdirection leading up until draft day, and this is more of the same.
Sperm Edwards
You mean like forcing someone else to trade up ahead of us to draft Cutler & then the #4 pick now has one of the original "big 3"? Hmmm
Sperm Edwards
Or just doing it to help push forth the idea that there's a "big 4" in this draft so we get a better return for trading down...
vinnys025
If the Titans take Cutler, then either Lionheart or Young will still be there which isnt all that bad. At least we wont have to give up a pick for them. I'll take whats there at number 4 and be happy with it.
ThunderbirdJet
This new regime are so far masterful at the draft smoke and mirrors game. On the radio today Tannenbaum said they could trade up, trade down, or stay at 4. I can't see Mangini and Tanny trading up though... that would mean giving up draft picks, and I just don't see that happeneing, not this year, at least. I do put some stock in the Cutler interest though.... Bradway and his scouts didn't have a three hour dinner with Cutler during senior bowl week for no reason. There is now way to guess what this new regime will do, but if they follow the Parcells/Belichick model, they won't give up picks, especially when rebuilding. They could in fact be hyping Cutler for a trade down.....
faba
Leading up to the draft there will be all sorts of rumours- I personally can not see Jets trading up-the one chip we have is draft picks to rebuild this team and we need to utilize them to the maximum . Let other teams guess what we are going to do at number 4 and see if anyone overwhelms us with an offer
Kentucky Jet
I agree with you. If we take BRICK at 4 I'd be happy though!

Barton
Thats complete crap. If the Titans take Jay Cutler (doubt it) then the Jets should go with Mario Williams or Dbrickashaw Ferguson. Its as simple as thats. This isnt a 3 player draft. Depending on what we get for Abraham, I would be more then willing to take Mario over Brick because Mario will fill a big hole too, but we can get a better OT with our next pick than we can for a 3-4 Dend should we take Brick at 4. LionelRichie
Or just doing it to help push forth the idea that there's a "big 4" in this draft so we get a better return for trading down... exactly. i would not be surprised to see the jets float a whole bunch of rumors out there to try to get some teams to make a move up to #4.
