I hate the guy, but let's be real.

The first 3 Super Bowls the Pats won, that was a defense and ball control team.   Brady's biggest pass in the SB against the Rams was a screen.  He came up with a game plan to stop the Greatest Show on Turf, just as he came up with a way to stop the Bills years earlier.

Let's not forget they were 5-13 before Brady.

Belichick said, 'I'm not going to make it through the year. He'll f---ing fire me before the year is over.'

They wouldn't have made the playoffs in 01 and he may not have lasted.

fast forward to those first 2 super bowls.  They blew a 14 point 4th qtr lead vs SL, that was the first time ever that a defense blew a double digit lead in the 4th qtr of a super bowl before Brady bailed them out.

2 years later they did it again but this time it was "only" an 11 point lead they blew as they allowed 19 4th qtr points to an offense led by jake delhomme before again being mailed out by Brady and the O.

his plan to stop the bills in SB XXV only worked because the Giants offense held the ball over 40 minutes.  That's why the Giants won.

Well Newton has single handedly cost them 2 games so far at least. Not sure Belichick lets that continue, though Stidham does not look good. Funny thing is that if we did not select him Morgan might be the starter for NE right now, they were VERY high on him from reports.

Cam did the job last night after taking some big hits.

They won all 3 games.  The Rams had one of the greatest offensive teams in NFL history.  The averaged almost 36 points per game.  The defensive game plan was amazing.  The rules were changed it was so effective.

Carolina put up 29 on Dallas in the playoffs the same year they put 29 on NE.  Dallas had the No. 1 D in the NFL that year.

FYI BB was the HC not the D coordinator in those 2 SB.

In the SB win against Buffalo he was the DC.  Buffalo put up 44 on the Dolphins and 51 on the Raiders in the two AFC playoff games leading up to the SB.  As you point out the Giants had 40 minutes of offense.  One of the reasons they had 40 minutes of O is Buffalo ran a no huddle O and the Giants D got them off the field with very little TOP being used.  That was a big problem with the Bills O under Levy.  When the O wasn't scoring it was leaving the D on the field for a very long time.   It was a brilliant game plan and the Giants D executed against one of the all time great NFL offenses.

In 99 they scored 9 pounts on O and 23 in SB.

Dallas was 10-6, they allowed 40 to Miami that year, 32 to Philly and 32 to the Giants. Carolina scored 23 and 14 the other 2 playoff games.  They scored 19 in the 4th qtr alone that game vs NE.

So Belichick didn't run those D's?  I guess our 09/10 D's were led by Mike Pettine?

The main reason the Giants O had the ball. 40 minutes was because they went on line drives.  They made the SB because of great D but they beat Buffalo because of the O.
