NY Jets trade Avery Williamson to the Steelers: MERGED

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News is reporting that the Jets are working on a trade that would send inside linebacker Avery Williamson to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the winless Jets sitting at 0-8, expect Jets GM Joe Douglas to get anything he can in draft capital as he looks to unload as many players as possible.

After a stellar first season with the Jets two years ago, Williamson hasn’t been the same player in 2020 after missing all of 2019 due to injury.  There was no mention of compensation at this time, but expect it to be a day three draft choice.

I had been hating on the Steelers heavy saying that they hadn't beaten anyone other than the Titans. I still think they are over rated, but hard to hate on 7-0

A 4th would be nice, but im sure its like a 6th

I liked Avery but it was apparent he was t in the long term plans. 
 

I was really hoping to see him and Mosley opposite fo each other. That could have been so much fun.

Although I think Demario Davis has been doing quite well for himself after leaving the Jets.

On 0-8 team I'm fine with it.  8 games to go in this atrocious season.  Turning a 2022 7th round pick into a 5th round pick helps this team and that's all that really matters.  Who knows, that could be a starting OG at some point.
