Jet_Engine1
Anyone who knows me, knows my almost lifelong affinity for Jeopardy. Every night around dinnertime, we had Alex Trebek and a couple of his friends over for a fun, intelligent game of trivia that never dumbed itself down, or pandered to anyone. The expectation was that you knew the answer, pronounced it correctly, and did it fast. And Alex Trebek was the perfect host and arbiter. Quick of wit and an obviously smart guy. I feel like I've lost an old friend. 1

He will truly be missed. An American icon for sure. 1
munchmemory
My Mom died of the same terrible disease. I was happy, but also surprised, that Alex survived that long. My Mom was gone in three months from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I remember Alex hosting a bunch of game shows back in the 60s. He was always clever, funny and a gentleman. Sending condolences to his wife, family, friends and fans. RIP.

I look at AT as a celebration of life, 80, Jeopardy, watch it mostly every night, good for the brain. I am in know way trying to draw any comparisons to your loss, to AT nobody replaces a mother or can fill her shoes. 1

Just added that to illustrate how hard Alex must have fought the disease and the amazing doctors who treated him. We watch every night, too. I'm guessing all the contestants over the years--especially Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer--are absolutely crestfallen and grief stricken.
