Popular Post Pointdexter
Hell of a job by Joe Douglas in year 1. Known players: 1) Mekhi Becton - already an elite LT. Huge score here for Douglas. 2) Denzel Mims - looks to be at minimum a strong #2 type with potential for more. Another hit. 3) Ashytn Davis - Man he showed a lot tonight. Physical. Fast. Instinctive. He's the kind of player that will get better and better every year. I'm a fan. 4) Braden Mann - excellent punter that can change field position and kick off. That's 4 hits with future starters. Perine looks like a contributor at a minimum for years. Zuniga, Clark, Morgan and Hall are all question marks but if we get anything out of just a couple of them it's gravy. We haven't seen ROI like this on a draft in over a decade. Couple this with some excellent trades (jamal adams) and even the biggest skeptic has to be bullish on Joe Douglas right now. 43 4

Larz
Davis really showed up. More physical than I expected zuniga is bigger than I thought as well lots of durability concerns but the talent is bubbling up
Popular Post choon328
Becton has been playing banged up all year. You gotta give him credit for fightng through it. This draft class does look promising. I think when they feature Perine more he's going to show he can be a quality player. Unfortunately that's only going to happen if Gase is fired. 10

Defense Wins Championships
I still have no idea why JD selected a 5th year college QB with a career completion percentage within the 50's during our 4th round pick? And to make it worse, an explosive and exciting WR out of UCF in Gabriel Davis went to Buffalo only 3 picks later.... 1

Popular Post pdxgreen
He's the only competent man in the building. What if the Adams trade becomes as pivotal a decision as the Knicks GM getting a hankering to move Willis Reed to center and trade for a guy like Debusschere? Or Stick Michael deciding that Paul O'Neill looks good in right field? Great personnel people make good things happen. Douglas is painting with broad strokes. We just can't see the results yet. 8

I’m praying for the sake of his health and development that this injury isn’t a torn pectoral muscle...but it might be that given that he’s likely been compensating for that weak shoulder.
Skeet Ulrich
Concerned about Becton. Monster when healthy, the shoulder issue(and it's rumored he tore his pec tonight), want to see how he returns next year.

GreenFish
The most promising thing is that we are not just talking about him potentially hitting on draft picks but him potentially hitting on draft picks at LT, WR and potentially contributors at edge and corner. Not iDL and LBs. Things look promising. Huff (UDFA) looks like a contributor as well. But Becton, Mims and Davis look very promising. 4

I don't remember the last offensive players career derailed by a torn pec muscle. It's a freak injury. Let's get all these injuries to Becton and Mims out of the way this year. We've seen enough from Becton now let's watch Mims develop after being labeled a bust because no player has ever recovered from hamstring strains.

Defense Wins Championships
How did our rookie CB Bryce Hall look during his 1st game? I was so disgusted and feeling sick to my stomach throughout the game with just the thought on losing out on the #1 pick and Trevor Lawrence, where as a fan; I couldn't even gather my thoughts together well enough to focus on individual players throughout the game. 1

You can't tell people you have a definite franchise left tackle if he's played like 6 games in the league and coming off a season ending injury.

Irish Jet
Holy overreaction batman. Mims has looked fine. Davis finally looked like he belonged after several disaster classes. Mann was the safest of all his picks. Let's give the guys more than a couple of games before declaring them studs.

Respectfully, this is way off. Flacco looked like Junk in his other games when he was throwing to Junk. Never even reached 200 yds. All of a sudden he found it? Darnold will have a nice game in 2 weeks 3
Popular Post Jetster
Becton is a franchise LT, we're 0-8 now 0-9, I'd hold him out with a hangnail. This dude is the pillar of what could be a beastly Oline with depth next year. 5
Popular Post MichaelScott
Couldnt agree more. Thats why although I have no clue what to so re Darnold and the top overall pick, I do have faith that Douglas knows what he is doing. Becton is an absolute beast but this season is not leaving me with a good feeling regarding his ability to stay on the field. Did he have injury issues in college? I'm happy it hasnt been his knees, but I was a bit concerned about a man that size and his body being able to hold up and he certainly isnt making me feel any better about that. Love what I'm seeing from Mims. I think he is already showing the talent of a high end #2, which makes me hopeful that he could develop into a WR1 type we havent had since Marshall. Davis was all over the field tonight, LOVED to see that. Adams was a terrific talent but I continue to believe a defense can/should be built with a safety like Davis and resources spent, appropriately, on positions that actually impact the game. I'll take Ashtyn Davis and 2 first rounders over Adams, his contract and his primadona BS EVERYDAY!! PS. F Jamal Adams 5 3

Jets723
Perine has looked pretty good when they use him. Mims had been impressive in all 3 career games. Becton is obviously the big piece for our oline for hopefully the next decade

I think this the pre-snap stuff is an excellent point. Darnold forcing the ball and having iffy mechanics is one thing, but the pre-snap stuff is so hard for people to quantify that it just doesnt get spoken about very much, but watching flacco it appears Sam is really bad at it. 4
