I really hope we can trade down for once, in all of my trade down mocks, some just once, others twice I come away with one or two 2022 1st rounders plus and end up happy with  my draft and happy with

Taking Wilson at 2 and using some trade backs to complete new O line and run game. Also add some playmakers for the O. Saleh had better be really good at D because no help will be on the way until the

Too many people on this board think passing on a quarterback this year means that we're 'all-in' on Sam.

We were a 2 win team this year. We need a lot of talent (especially on offense), and we're not turning it around next year.

If you're not enamored with Fields, Wilson or Lance, you can just keep stockpiling talent and acquiring picks.

You make poor decisions when you force it. Tua says hi.

The value of that trade is so lopsided its laughable.

You traded #2 for #9 and #41.  Worse, in a QB-heavy draft.

Look at what WAS got for #2 just a few years ago.  They got #6, #39 and TWO MORE FIRST ROUND PICKS.

We traded #6 and THREE SECOND ROUND PICKS for #3.

For the Broncos to move up from #9 you would need to add at least next year's first and one more premium pick in addition to this year's second just to start to balance the scales.

I suggest you look at the top of that mock and the compensation again...

Sorry.  I thought it was saying 2 was Rd 1 and 41 was Rd 2.  That's a bit better.  I still wouldn't do it, but it's in the vicinity of fair compensation.

This one I believe is super duper unrealistic and involved a couple trades at the top

9- Kyle pitts monster tight end
22- Chris olave best wr left on the board here
34 wyatt davis can't see the best guard in the draft falling in our lap here but I jumped on him.
38 tyson campbell...our secondary left alot to be desired
39 terrence marshall jr more weapons? Yes please.
40 creed Humphrey my favorite center in the draft is dropping.
66 Kyle trask backup plan to darnold or maybe backup for the qb we draft next year.
71 quincy roche...only regret in this mock was it took so long to grab an edge prospect.

I wanted to try one with Robert Saleh as HC in mind. And, as much as I love Ja Marr Chase, I can see JD being one of those GM's that doesn't think a WR is worth #2 overall.

So I chose a trade down scenario and went with more traditionally 'premium' positions with earlier picks and tried to look at defensive players that would fit the Saleh defense.

I should've spent more time thinking about the Shanahan offense too; I do not know if Leatherwood fits that zone scheme as well, but he does have 30 starts at Alabama.

Raped Cinci for a trade down to 5 then picked up 2 stud WR's in the 1st, an edge rusher and beefed up the interior OL. 2022 draft all stocked up. This is the one fella's, lock it up.

Ok, we all know JD isn't going to draft all offensive players so I mixed it up this time.  This is a build a complete team around Sam draft.

I traded down with the Panthers.  They did pay the quarterback tax (Fields).  Then I also traded back again with the Niners when the BYU kid fell to us.

I stuck with premium position players and still rebuilt the team.  BTY, I drafted two TE's, but Tremble is going to be playing full back fro us.  Anyone that's watched this kid play knows he's a punishing lead blocker and is perfect for catching balls out of the back field.  Jet fans are going crazy when we picked defenders with three of the first four picks, but the offense was not neglected.  We built a potentially great line and add a big receiver to play opposite of Mims, a very good TE, a quality back, and are loaded for next year's draft.

Changing my goals.  We're probably keeping Sam and switching to a 4-3.  This mock reflects the new direction:

I signed OG Thurney and WR Robinson in free agency.  Probably a few Niners too.

Traded down with the Panthers.  They paid the QB tax.  Now we have three 1's in the 22 draft.

-Pass Rusher to go along with Zuniga on opposite side.  4 man rotation with Huff and Basham!

-Bookend Tackles for the 2020's!

-Big corner to help the pass rush even more!

-Center bumps McGovern to guard opposite of Thurney.  Two veteran guards to help the youth at tackle and center.

-Sam backer to pair with Mosley in the middle and a Cashman/Hewitt will combo.

-DT mountain to clog the middle allowing Q and Fatukasi to penetrate.  Can rotate with Shep.

-My pet project.  Will the a FB/TE/Everything for us.

-explosive back to pair with Johnson and Perine.

First Post Saleh mock. The Jets ain't drafting a RB. That is not how a Shanahan-type O operates. Need to get a playmaking TE (Pitts), speedy OLBs (Surratt and Tryon), a starting quality CB (Campbell), continue the O line rebuild (Dickerson and Mayfield), get a real life returner (Newsome) and adding depth everywhere...  I traded out of the #2 with Carolina for #8, #39, #136 and their 2022 first and second round picks.

ps. I only drafted Tre Brown with the final pick because I get a kick out of the fact that it is my friend's son's name.
