The style of football they play, the offense we've seen them in. I mean to me other than they both have strong arms, and their looks, not much reminds me of Mahomes. Theyre two different type college QBs, I just thought that yeah, schools with the same concern about being Bisons, pro style game, coaches, kind of Wentzish.
bla bla bla
I really like Trey Lance, honestly like him more than Fields. My biggest concern with him is only 1 year of starting experience plus 1 showcase game. The only INT of his career was thrown during that game and he looked shakey. I really wish we got to see him play a full season this year. If we get #1, there is nothing someone could say to make me change the pick from Trevor. If the unanimous decision is he is the top prospect since Elway/Manning then you don't over think the pick. Select Trevor and never look back, if he flops then so be it but you will have made the correct pick.

Jimmy is 24-8, 67%, 51 TDs and 26 INTs and people think he sucks. I dont get that

Jetsfan80
Isn't Kyler Murray a better comp for Lance? Fields, Zach Wilson, Lance....all of these are in play for a team picking # 2 overall. Even Mac Jones might join that conversation too.

Even coming out of HS he was donminating all the summer camps - he's smart, makes quick decisions, has a good arm, tough....but IMHO, he's not an elite athlete, not much of a runner, and not someone with a top A+++ NFL caliber arm. I'd put him in the 2nd to 3rd rd category. I can see him being one of those steady 10 year NFL backups But he threw 5 TDs today against auburn so he's the greatest human on tne planet

No one is picking Lance or Wilson #2.

(Oh well I asked for it, flame away... ) Just asking the question.... I was watching some of his film and I think this kid could be the steal of the draft depending on where he is picked. I know a lot can happen between now and the draft and he certainly hasn't helped himself by only playing one game, but this guy's skill set is tailor made for todays modern NFL. He looks like bigger, better passing version of Lamar Jackson. If the Jets don't get the first pick, I would seriously consider trading down a few picks and taking Lance at say 4 or 5, and getting nice haul in picks if possible. Then depending on how Sam does the rest of the season, I would bring him back to compete and hopefully win the job so that Lance can sit and watch for at least half a season. He does not need to be thrown in right away. Now if Darnold really plays well we have a nice problem in that, we can trade Sam and get maybe a 1st round pick. We roll into the next season with Lance having half a season under his belt and another crap load of picks to continue to build around him. I really like this scenario but my only fear is that some team takes Lance ahead of us or trades the pick to team looking to move up. Of course if we do get the 1st pick then we really have to take TL (unless he decides he doesn't want to play for us). It would be almost criminal not to. That said, I like the fact that we do have options going forward and don't have to freak out if we win a game or two. It might actually work in our favor when all is said and done. How dare you Mahomes is The God, there is no next one.
