Fred Jetstone
As long as the fat is being cut from the Jets. Let's get real about some of the over-paid, over-rated, under-achievers still on this team. Number 1 on my list is Justin McCantcatchits. The dude dropped perfect passes all season and made his qb look really bad in the Carolina game. Justin, if I were GM, I'd cut you like a fart after a baked bean eating contest. Also on my cut list: Jolley, Goodwin, Pouha & Barrett. As long as we're cleaning house, let's really clean house. Yeeaaaah!
AVM
what is it with everyone who wants to cut these cheap backups? we're low with cap space anyways...if we got guys who are good as BACKUPS(aka bollinger, goodwin) why release them, and be forced to pick up someone more expensive? You guys really make no sense! lol One other thing....can't give up on jolley yet, and mangini wont give up on him. Also, pouha gets one more year to get in shape and prove himself worthy of a backup spot(bust as a third rounder though, will never be a starter)
Preston Howley III
Justin, if I were GM, I'd cut you like a fart after a baked bean eating contest. Stop stealing Fatman's mojo.
Jetfan13
why would you want to get rid og Goodwin? hes young, cheap and plays 2 positions
Barton
why would you want to get rid og Goodwin? hes young, cheap and plays 2 positions He's friggen horrible. Barrett is a good player, we shouldnt cut him unless we can upgrade, and I dont see one out there.
The Troll
He's friggen horrible. Barrett is a good player, we shouldnt cut him unless we can upgrade, and I dont see one out there. A lot of people hate Barrett, which I really don't get. Yes, there are times when he looks awful, but there are also times where he is dominant. If he could become more consistent, he would be one hell of a player, but as of now, he's a solid starter and should not even be mentioned as a possible cut. As for McCareins, unfortunately, it costs more to cut him than it does to keep him. But on the first day that is no longer the case, send his ass on the red eye back to Illinois. faba
McCareins has been disappointing in not being clutch and coming up with the receptions we need- Barrett playing off receivers has driven me crazy in some of the games but he far from the worse guy to have- especially on run support
4HCrew
In the grand scheme of things he is the least of their problems. I would give Pouha another year under better coaching
PeterNorth09
Not only would it cost more for the Jets to cut him, the Jets don't have much else at WR. Chrebet is retired, Cotchery is average, hopefully Coles will renegotiate his contract and not act like a bitch, Ridgeway sucks, Jolley is awful and Chris Baker is a free agent. Jolley has to go. He can't block and can't catch. This draft has a ton of good tight ends in it. Why keep this loser? Goodwin might be the starting center next year. Pouha was a rookie DT. Rookie DT's usually need more time to learn their position than other defensive players. Still, DT is a BIG CONCERN for our defense and should be a priority. The Gun Of Bavaria
For a 2nd round draft pick, McCareins gets another year to prove last year was a fluke. Jerry Rice would have looked like McCareins this season with Vinny and Bollinger back there.
sirlancemehlot
For a 2nd round draft pick, McCareins gets another year to prove last year was a fluke. Jerry Rice would have looked like McCareins this season with Vinny and Bollinger back there. McCareins was a complete waste of time and money. I was calling for his head when we gave up a two for him, since I knew the only reason Herm fell in love with the bum is because he had the best game of his career playing against us. He can't catch, can't separate, and can't justify his value as a 2nd round pick. He was a #3 in Tennessee, and should be a 3 here until we can afford to cut bait with him. Even with bad QB's, a good reciever makes some plays and doesn't drop easy TD's.
