JTJet
It amazes me that people 100% believe that there is zero chance he forces a trade. There is ACTUAL precedent for this a couple times in the history of the NFL draft, and the conditions for it to happen again are lining up. 3

Its just the stench of Gase and what the team is now. Once they purge all that, get their HC and Douglas and his team can sit down with Lawerence, it’ll be okay. If Gase was still here, he’d 100 percent force a trade. 6 1

A respectable coach and not a first time HC along with some very serious FAs. 2

JustInFudge
So dumb. He just said goodbye to Clemson fans and staff on his last home game. He’s coming out, hay! And we are all here to celebrate! The best part of this stupidity is, what are his choices? Staying in school? Ok cool, well then guess who has the #1 overall in 2022? 2

RevisIsland610
This will be a good place for him. Nothing can be worse than this year so it's only upside from here. Number 1 sports market. Gase will be gone. A franchise LT plus some other promising young players. Plenty of cap space and draft picks, including 5 in the top 90. Things are bleak now but they could be a lot different in 2 years. 3

And every year he waits = an extra year before he gets to sign his extension after his 3rd or 4th season that will be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
TuscanyTile2
He can absolutely say he won't play for the Jets. The first step to preventing that from happening is to sh*t-can Adam Gase as soon as the season ends, and hire an actual NFL-caliber HC. Rhg1084
Lawrence can actually be walking into a premium situation. This is the possible offense he can have around him next year: RB: Etienne/Harris, Perine WR: ARob/Godwin/JuJu, Mims, Crowder, Perriman TE: Hunter Henry, Herndon OL: Thuney and Becton Lawrence can thrive right away with the right personnel and coaching staff obviously. This is what Joe D will have to sell to him

BigRy56
Who’s he gonna force a trade to? Jacksonville? Does anybody realize what teams past the top 5 will need to give up for this kid??? I dunno, if there was a more appealing team at 2 or 3 there might be an argument... but we’re talking first and second round picks for years of a team outside of the top 5 wanted this kid. Dallas of course is appealing but they will resign Dak

It changes the second a respectable coach is actually hired that makes sense for the team. Theres still room to screw this up, and the Jets do not get the benefit of the doubt until the moment they pick that coach.

And for anyone who thinks it definitely won't happen, ask yourself if it was your son, what would you do? The thing is, the Jets do have a couple things going for them here. 1. There should be enough time for JD to link up with whoever Lawerence's agent is and let them know what his plan is and to also allow some level of input into the HC. Thats very important. 2. We have draft picks and Cash to build around a QB on a rookie deal. 3. If Lawerence does pull a power play, Jacksonville is a good spot for him as its a southern location and they have the picks to make a swap. If its fields or even Lance as the #2 QB, JD can come away with a QB and another first round pick.
