The Gun Of Bavaria
A friend of mine at the PD has a contact with the Lions who invited some of us down for a tour of the Lions training facility in Allen Park, MI just West of Detroit. Very impressive facility I must say. It was built about 5 years ago and they just completed their 4th year in it after moving down from Pontiac to Detroit. Apparently their conditions in Pontiac were deplorable to say the least. As the guy said, they put mirrors in the weight room to make it appear more spacious then it was. They barely had any facilities for meetings, interviews, the works. It was very very bad by all accounts. As the Jets look to build a new practice facility, they should take a look at Detroit and learn some lessons. They did a good job with this one. Like anything else they wish they would have added a few other things like a lap pool, but they did well. For those interested here are some pics. Since it was 22 and we have 35 mph winds today, we didn't go outside. But out back, they have 3 full size football fields for outdoor practice. GOB TEAM MEETING ROOM - Top of line video equipment, dry erase boards everywhere lol FRONT LOBBY FIELDHOUSE - END ZONE : Notice Anything Missing? FIELDHOUSE - Full Size FieldTurf Field, Ceiling is 110' high FIELDHOUSE - End Zone View - Camera Stations to upper left and above me WEIGHT ROOM - 8000 sq ft WEIGHT ROOM - Notice Balcony with Cardio Equipment. (The Senior Player on site gets to choose the music in the weight room lol) TRAINING ROOM - Treatment Tables for Laser, Electric Stim, etc. TRAINING ROOM HYDROTHERAPY - Hot Tubs & Cold Tubs. Tub to far left is 9 feet deep. Each tub has an underwater camera for trainers to observe player progress and rehab! LOCKER ROOM - Taken fron Defensive Side - Offense is on other side. GARCIA's LOCKER - Hmm, should we read into the fact that his locker was the ONLY one that didn't have ANYTHING in it???? Harrington's is on right. EQUIPMENT ROOM - Contract shoes for those players with endorsement deals. This was the Nike side, Reeboks were next cabinet over. PLAYER/STAFF Cafeteria - 3 meals a day Mon - Thur. FIELDHOUSE/FACILITY from Outside.

All his floaters with air under them would clank off the cieling of that facility.

The Gun Of Bavaria
To answer All your questions - 1) No Donut convention. But honestly what was funny is everywhere u went, training room, cafeteria, were boxes of Power bars, protein bars, snickers bars. Gatorade galore in weight room and cafeteria. Shake machines for protein shakes in the cafeteria and fruit everywhere. A lot of stuff, including pills to keep electrolytes up. 2. The goal post is missing it's post in the ground. (Posts are hung from the rafters)

Which is good, because my right shoulder is still so messed up bencing 135lbs in a room where 300 and 400 gets put up would be a disgrace
