So many people now use that word to describe people who do stupid things but are called "heroes". Chuck Yeager was the real deal.

munchmemory
The word is either misused or given to people with a fraction of what he possessed, but Chuck Yeager was a true hero. Difficult to imagine now, but no one knew what would happen if you broke the sound barrier. Yet, he had the courage and real patriotism to go for it anyway. Also because of his incredible eyesight, was one of America's greatest air aces ever. RIP, Chuck Yeager.

RIP to the man with the Right stuff. with all the BS around the movie "Right Stuff". That movie clearly demonstrated that ALL pilots looked up to Yeager. He was a legend. 1

You get more of the real story of Yeager and the others than the film portrayed. Dennis Quaid's performance in that flick nearly killed it for me. Just too goofy for my taste.
