Popular Post mrcoops
No, it's time to move on. Great kid, tries hard, but hasn't done enough to be the future of the franchise. Trade him, draft his replacement.

shuler82
I want the next coach to make that decision. If he stays, there better be a plan to help him develop and succeed. If he goes, there needs to be a QB they love in the draft. 2

Popular Post usanyj
I was a huge sam supporter. I wanted him to be great and I wrote off a lot of issues because of the hope and all the positives coming out of the draft process. I also saw him qb that rose bowl game which is one of the best college games I’ve ever watched. he looks nothing like the kid who finished out his rookie year. He looks lost and has regressed. He needs a change of venue. You can’t pay a guy who is playing like him. No 400 yards games, poor decision making, poor field vision. It just hasn’t worked out, whether it’s coaching, talent, or him, or all of the above. It can’t be him next year. even today, in a game we controlled, he only threw for 50%. im not a fan of fields but I probably could be convinced, I am a huge Wilson supporter so I’d be fine with him. And call me crazy, I think JD will try to get Wentz, and aside from that contract, I’d be cool with that too. sam has disappointed me, because I wanted so much for him to be the guy. I was shocked when he fell to us and thought we were headed to 10-15 years of elite qb play. It didn’t happen, and it’s a real shame. 6
Warfish
Could be worse, we could have Dwayne Haskins, lol.
Untouchable
With Lawrence out of the equation, yes. Build up the rest of the roster and see how he does with a new coach and an improved supporting cast. If he falls flat on his face, then make a play for Howell in 2022 and at least he can potentially walk into a situation where he doesn’t have to make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t every week. 2
fullblast
I can live with it if that's how things play out, but I really think it's in the best interest of both team and player to move on.

shawn306
Yes. None of the other QB's thrill me so roll Darnold one more year, trade down get some more picks and keep rebuilding the OL and get me a top WR to go with Mims and Crowder
SR24
No we’ve all seen enough from Sam. It sucks and it’s sad but he’s not the guy, best to just move on. Trade him for a 2nd or a 3rd and be done with it.
QB1
Bad poll, we should draft a QB and keep Sam next year. Rookie should sit and if Sam does well we have Brees Rivers v2. If Sam fails we have the other guy ready to go. Getting rid of Sam unless a team offers us a 1st rounder makes no sense. 2

CrazyCarl40
My opinion is that whomever the next coach is will have a say in that, but personally I don’t think he’s good enough to win here.

BroadwayRay
What I don't get from the "Let's see what he does with a better supporting cast" crowd is, how much better do you think think the Jets are going to be next year? Do you think after adding a few starters through draft picks and starters that the Jets are going to become playoff-worthy and that Sam will magically become a franchise QB? Even if they do manage to transform the team into a contender, we've seen Sam for three years now, and his flaws are self evident. Plus, the "lack of supporting cast" thing is overdone. Even with good pass protection and good receivers, i.e. Crowder/Periman/Mims, he fails to lift the team.
