I'll definitely be tuning in tonight.  To be honest I haven't paid that much
attention to Kyle Trask but his numbers are outstanding:

Will be interesting to see his traits

Trey Lance is so much better imo. Will be interesting to hear your opinion though

I really like Kyle Trask, he's an interesting prospect in either a trade down or as an option if we roll with Sam and opt to take a QB in the late first or early second. He has a great arm, I just wish he was a little more mobile.

I'm quite intrigued by Trask.

But I was intrigued as a top-of-third-rounder type "steal" perhaps.

I'm hearing the Steelers might take Trask in the bottom of the 1st as their next "Replacement for Big Ben".

Also hearing a few other teams are targeting him for bottom of the 1st.

So the question might be moot (for us) if JD doesn't rate him ~26th pick worthy.

He's a statue. No thanks.

A statue?

So were the likes of pure pocket passing Franchise QBs such as Namath, Montana, Marino, Kelly, Aikman, Warner, Manning, Bress, Brady etc.

There is more to a QB than running around like a chicken with your head cut off.

I personally believe both Mac Jones and Kyle Trask are better QBs than Fields/Zach.

Not a lot of positives about Trask from this performance:

- Well developed frame

- Not an "electric" athlete, moves very deliberately when
running

- Questionable arm strength.  He didn't/couldn't drive the
ball outside the numbers to prevent the CB from picking him
for a pick 6.  Also the ball comes out of his hand with too
much "wobble" on multiple throws

- Shaky accuracy

- A different flaw on each of his three INT's
#1 He couldn't drive the ball outside the numbers to beat the CB
#2 Bad placement to his WR which caused the ball to be tipped
  #3 Bad decision

- Not a good look when the HC pulls you to jump start the offense

This is a very plausible scenario to me.

The only thing that gives me concern about Trask is that he's not a big athlete. The good young QBs these days are big athletes with serious mobility.

That sound you hear is Trasks draft stock plummeting

Why?

Their team can not win a National Championship, this a glorified exhibition.   Why should they risk millions of dollars on a game that doesn't actually mean anything?

Its the biggest game of a lot of their team mates careers, guys they have been with all year or years.

Why should the nat champ mean anything?  that too is an unpaid ex game.  All the stars for Ohio State, clemson, bama and Notre dame should sit out.

I gotta be honest, after the initial novelty has worn off, I think overall the CFB playoff is bad for the sport.  The Cotton Bowl used to feel lime a big deal.  As a kid from the Midwest, it felt very different.  Not as big as the big 4, but still big and special.  Now it's just bleh.

The CFB playoff has made all these games feel even more meaningless then they used to.

Simple remedy. Expand the playoffs another round. This is long overdue already. This year would have made a ton of sense to do so.

I don't know if that fixes everything. Would certainly be better than this.

If I had my druthers, I'd go back to the OLD(pre BCS) Bowl lineup.  I'd remove one non-con game/week at the start of the season so most teams would only play 11 regular season games.  Conference title games would be around Thanksgiving.

I'd then do these traditional bowl games. This would essentially serve as a playoff round of sorts.

Then you pick your final 4.  The semi finals would be played at the higher seeds home stadium.

Then you do the title on a neutral field.

There are some drawbacks to this, but I think it would be awesome.

Anything is better than a committee simply picking the 4.

Ohio State should have never sniffed the playoffs.
