Matt39
Manny Lawson DE/OLB for NC St. ran a 4.41. Might have put himself as a top 25 pick.
CluJet
Probably even top 15 if he wasn't so light. His weight concerns me. If he can gain a solid 15-20 lbs., he will be a force in the NFL.

CluJet
What was he weighed at. I haven't gotten an official weight, but I assume in the 240-245 range. That is LB size. He could be considered a "tweener", I assume, but he still needs to add a good 15 lbs. to his frame. Mario weighs 290.

One thing I am noticing though is that the 'tweeners' have been kicking some ass in the nfl, shawm merriman from last draft immediately comes to mind. As long as Lawson could stay injury-free, he could be a great NFL player. I bet Mangini could find some nice blitz packages for him and that 4.4 speed. He's 6'5" and begging to be put into a pro strength program. From my perspective he played well enough at the Senior Bowl to be considered top 25 before the combine, now he's arguably top 20 or top 15. He has always been a great athlete, in fact was a track sprinter for the NC state 4X100 team as a freshman.

Keep that good stuff coming! Honestly, I'm starting to feel spoiled because when I'm part of a thread talking about a college kid and bit or r44 come in with the low down on the guy to close the loop is just wonderful! You guys have taken my healthy obsession with the draft and scouting and turned it into an unhealthy obsession, thanks!

Nice to know that he is able (and probably will) bulk up eventually and be able to maintain his speed. 4.4 is just sick for a DE, even if he is a tweener. Whoever takes him and uses him correctly could make him into a star.
