I for one dont begrudge Johnny in the least...he delivered "The Dagger" to the Yankees in game 7, thereby killing the ghost of Babe Ruth.

We used him for a few years and then jilted him at the altar. Red Sox fans shouldnt begrudge him any more than you would begrudge the average skanky c*m dumpster that we kick out of bed after downing a fifth of Jack Daniels and an eight ball.

I don't begrudge Damon's decision either. He was a key part of the orld Series team and I will always be grateful. He left for more green - more power to him. He shoots off his mouth because he has learned that this leads to becomming a media darling - being the reporters "go-to guy" - therefore anything negative written about him is tempered a bit. This "candid" persona (some of the stuff he spews is absolute bullsh&t) also leads to fan adoration and endorsement deals. This also leads to his wife (the great, inflatable Michelle) to get exposure as well - which makes her very happy too. A happy Michelle is a good thing. Look what an unhappy Julianna Rameriez has done to Manny! :D

Anyway, bye Johnny!

Ham and I were both looking foward to Melky patrolling CF this year.

I assume Melky will now be traded during the summer for a Starting Pitcher.

If we can get something of value for Melky, we have to jump on it. Melky, at best, will be an average-above average player. Tabata, Battle, Jackson, Gardner are all MUCH better CF prospects, and one of them will be ready when Damon's contract is up, or in the 3rd-4th year of the deal. Hopefully it's Tabata, who has superstar potential (amazing defender with a plus arm, whose bat has drawn some comparisons to Manny.)
