Smizzy
The skins are going to have to cut 10+ players just to get under the cap. Ramsey will be one of them if someone doesn't suckered into trading a pick for him. If reports are true ,The jets would be fools to give them anything less than a 3rd rd pick for him and I wouldn't even offer that. See if they want someone we're about to cut. Any talk about sending Abe for ramsey doesn't make sense to me. Are we in the business of helping the skins out? They are in salary cap trouble, they will release Ramsey anyway. Just say No to Patrick .
PeterNorth09
I'm not a big fan of Ramsey either but trading Abe to Wash for Ramsey and a 2nd rounder would be a good deal. You get a legit starting qb for next year and another 2nd round pick which we can turn into a good OT, DT or TE.

124
Use one of our two 4th round picks to send to Washington for Ramsey who will start the 06 season while Croyle waits in the wings until 2007 or 2008. TRADE FOR RAMSEY!

I seriously doubt Washington will cut Ramsey and lose him for nothing. He was a 1st rounder. We're not the only team that is interested in him. Wash will trade him. TRADE FOR RAMSEY! If we take Croyle, why would we want to give up that pick for Ramsey? That just doesn't make sense. I wouldn't want to give up that pick for somebody that I expect to be on the bench in 1-2 years. Especially when we are probably not going to be in any kind of contention next season. Because there's no reason to go out and start a rookie right away. You can't throw most QB's right out into the wolves and succeed. Ramsey wouldn't be just on the team for 1 or 2 years until Croyle is ready. He could also be a serviceable back-up starting in 07 or 08. Maybe even he'd play so well here he'd win over the starting job and Croyle would stay on the bench for 4 years until his contract is up and goes elsewhere. You need a veteran and a rookie on this team.

124
I'll take Ramsey over some scrub 4th rounder who has a decent chance of never doing anything...especially when you have 2 4th rounders you can afford to give up one for a potential starting QB. Hell, I'd rather let Bollinger tank next season than give up a pick for somebody who might win 2 or 3 more games. The only way I would give a 4th round for Ramsey would be if we didn't plan on picking another QB in the first 3-4 rounds. If we did, we would essentially be drafting 2 QB in the same draft. Jetheelz
Page 65 on the best selling novel "Ramsey Rules" See, this is the same argument you and I had yesterday. I don't think Ramsey is 100% horrible, but he sure isn't that good either. I made the argument for Matt Schaub and all I hear from you is "F Him, he sucks, he blows, blah blah blah." However one thing you said I thought was interesting....you said just because he had a solid game against the Pats and nearly beat them doesn't make him good...Now I pose this question to you: Who in the past few years for the Jets has done that? Certainly not Vinny or Chad.

When have I ever said that Freddie is the best? Never. Second, Freddie will be back in the NFL this season. Thrid, if you don't like who I like, tough, really couldn't care less but while you make your case for the left handed Pennington (Leinart) or the soft throwing Rivers or maybe even another shoulder injury riden QB in Brees, fine, that's your opinion. I'll take Ramsey for a year or two and then Croyle over Leinart or Brees anyday.
