Cimini and other reporters :

Ad Nauseam please ask who the new coach will be reporting to - Will he report to the Johnsons or Douglas. its the number 1 question moving forward.

And "will there be budget restraints on the next HC contract?"

“I thought Adam Gase was doing wonderful but you guys didn’t so here we are.”

Johnsons #1 goal is to protect the golden goose. They may be bad at football, but they're excellent at profits. They know as well as us that the fan base was turning toward apathy. That's the worst-case scenario for an owner.

Yup.  I have been a big JD supporter, and I still am.  But if Sam is starting next year, he loses me.

Intuition could be wrong, but it smells like it's setting up to be just that. Who's willing to accept the job with Darnold being penciled in as the starter. Ugh.

I don't know.  Honestly have no idea what to think.  Where are in the time of year where more than half of what is said is disinformation.  See how the off-season plays out.  As of now, I am still optmistic about the offseason.  But ask me again in April.

JD must not like being a GM, then. From a pure self-interest point of view, if he brings Sam back and Sam flops (99% likelihood) he's on the hot seat next off-season. Bringing in a rookie -- unless it's a Ryan Leaf meltdown situation -- likely gets him close to the end of his contract.
