I thought he had a great game against Cleveland. He was tossing linemen around.

I think he had a couple really brutal games that probably hurt his score.  The Pats were pushing him around on almost every play, and their interior DL is pretty bad, so that likely affected things

the eye test says the OL is half way there. i would draft a center, move mcgovern to guard (where he was always better with denver), and probably roll with Fant at RT.

I would love that, and it's so doable with all our picks. I really think that Cam Clark will get a big shot to win a G spot next year. Even though he played OT in college, think most teams projected him as a G.

29. NEW YORK JETS

The Jets, like the Dolphins, threw a lot of resources at the offensive line this offseason. That included a first-round pick spent on Louisville tackle Mekhi Becton, who impressed in his rookie season. His 74.3 PFF grade ranked 19th out of 38 qualifying left tackles despite battling injuries, and he showcased that his rare blend of size and athleticism could cause serious problems for defenders.

Overall, however, it was a disappointing season for the offensive line in New York. They allowed pressure in 2.5 seconds or less on 28% of their dropbacks — the worst rate in the NFL. The line wasn’t creating many lanes in the run game, either. The Jets averaged just 1.1 yards per carry before contact per rushing attempt in 2020 (30th). Once again, they’ll have to look to add pieces to their offensive line this offseason.

30. Bengals

31. Giants

32.Chargers

****

Extra notes.

Patriots and Bills both ranked in the top ten Oline, regular season rankings.

Miami ranked almost as poorly as the Jets at 28th.

Kelvin Beachum had a great year at the right tackle position in Arizona, passing grade north of 75

(Arizona ranked 12th)

Makes Herbert's season even more amazing.

Kinda like we thought.  Our line is Becton and a bunch of random dudes.

Sign Thuney, draft either Creed Humphrey, Sam Cosmi or Alex Leatherwood with that late 1st from Seattle or the Jets' early 2nd.

GVR PFF pass block rate is surprising to say the least. Other than a few games late in the season pre-injury it seems like he was a spanish matador

Wow, really surprised by Elfliens grade, I thought he played well.

It's for the entire year. He only played 1 game with Minnesota and 6 with the Jets.

According to Nfl.com he hasn’t played at all with Minnesota this season. He’s only played 7 games this season and it was all with the Jets.

PFF has always had weird grades for OL imo. I think they underrated Becton/Fant/Elflein and overrated McGovern/GVR.

Lewis had a 66.6 grade with a 55.6 pass block and a 71.5 run block. That one seems pretty on-par.

Ah, I was looking at PFR, it shows that he played 52 snaps in week 1 for Minny.

They rated our line 29th. JD has his work cut out.

Interestingly, they ranked the Chargers line worst in the league. Makes Herbert's season look that much more impressive.

It's funny you bring this up - Chargers had the worst OL graded by PFF and Herbert had an amazing rookie season. When you're good - you're good. The idea that you build the team up around a young QB and it'll make him a pro bowler is absurd. Either you have it or you don't.

People's rosey opinions on pat elflein is proof how much they know about the line. Not much and it's mostly wishful thinking

The Jets have one legitimate starter, Becton. Maybe McGovern if you squint. 3 out of the 5 "starters" are huge liabilities and in fact, not nfl starters at all.

Becton had a great year in terms of jersey sales and pro bowl votes and guys saying how big he is. That's not enough

Sewell at lt, Becton at rt and build the foundation.

If the Jets take a qb at 2, he could very well be on the ir this time next year like Joe burrow

Fant isn’t a liability but upgradable. You’re missing however that Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert and even Ryan Fitzpatrick were all pretty good even tho they had trash OLs. Spend some of our $90+million on an OL upgrade and we take a good QB prospect at 2. We end up a better team than if we draft Sewell.

Upgrades the ol through free agency are often fools gold. No one good makes it to free agency
