I’m not to sure other than he’s an offensive-minded coach. @JiF is the guy you’d probably want to ask. I’ve had him described to me as the offensive-oriented Rex Ryan by other people. Not sure how I feel about that. 3

Icer
He's done well at Florida and brought them back to near the top (sans-Alabama) SEC relevance after Muschamp/McElwain left them in the dumps. Not sure if he's the right fit in NY, but definitely fits the CEO mold that we've heard about it. He was with Urban at Utah and Florida during the Alex Smith/Tim Tebow years, and developed Dak at Miss St.
Beerfish
His coivd incident made him look rather stupid but his offence at florida was very good.
New York Mick
Interesting. He did good at Mississippi State and Florida but I’m sure what his thing is or what kind of offense/defense he runs. JiF where you at
Popular Post Lith
From the Draft Network a few days ago, discussing Mullen as potential fit for Jets job. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/dan-mullen-new-york-jets-head-coach-replace-adam-gase In three seasons at Florida, Mullen has a record of 29-9 with three trips to NY6 Bowls. He’s also just 48 years old, which could still be considered relatively young in the pro coaching world, even with a handful of head coaches and coordinators getting gigs in their 30s. What is alluring about Mullen is likely his work with quarterbacks. He’s long been thought of as one of the top offensive minds in college football, from his days as a quarterbacks coach at Utah where he helped develop Alex Smith into a No. 1 overall pick, to his time as an offensive coordinator at Florida under Urban Meyer, orchestrating National Championship-caliber offenses and a Heisman campaign for Tim Tebow. Then at Mississippi State, he helped quarterback Dak Prescott develop into one of the best players in conference history, coaching the team to their school’s first No. 1 ranking in program history in 2014. He also helped turn Nick Fitzgerald, the quarterback who followed Prescott at MSU, into one of the top names in the conference’s record books. And finally this past season, he developed Kyle Trask into a Heisman candidate out of nowhere. No matter what the starting point of talent was with the quarterback in front of him, Mullen elevated them to their best. And that isn’t just with quarterbacks, either. He’s had plenty of skill position players who have developed well under his coaching. With the league at an offensive tilt right now, and especially with the Jets looking to make the most of either the quarterback they have right now in Sam Darnold or the quarterback they’ll be drafting No. 2 overall in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft, Mullen might be that “next great college offensive mind” the Jets take the chance on. The Jets have been void of a true franchise quarterback for a long time. If they believe Mullen’s collegiate developmental track record can translate to his potential work in the pros, it makes sense why they would dig into the possibility. Whether it’s Mullen or not, whoever is the next head coach of the Jets has to know what they’re doing with quarterbacks. I would ultimately be surprised if Mullen made the jump to the pros this year. Not just to the Jets, but at all. To me, he has always felt like a college football guy. Not that he couldn’t have success in the NFL, but it would certainly take the right—a new—mindset for a guy who has been in college coaching his entire career dating back to 1994.

Popular Post Carnival Barker
Great offensive mind with a strong track record of developing QBs and turning programs around... but he can never seem to keep his foot out of his mouth. I tend to think the whole "New York media will eat this guy alive" mentality is overrated, but Mullen has the potential to make Rex's press conferences look like Mangini's in comparison. 4 1 1

College guys prefer to keep things hush-hush so it doesn’t hurt their ability to recruit if they don’t get the job. I don’t think Campbell is going to leave, as much as I want him to, but if he does it will be a very quiet and quick process.

Popular Post HawkeyeJet
Mullen doesn't have the "program builder" moniker attached to him, but what he did at Miss St, in the SEC, is as impressive as anything that Rhule, Fitzgerald or Campbell have accomplished. 7
