Popular Post Jet Life 1,823
I’m guessing Mchsay, Kiper and these guys are just defending their high Sam grade so will blame everyone else and say trade back , even though they clearly missed 3
Popular Post Icer 3,603
Jets fans don't know what good QB play is. No other explanation for the Darnold defenders around here who think he is still a FQB in disguise 2 2
Popular Post BroadwayRay 3,153
“Build an entire organization over the next two years” around the worst starting QB in the NFL. All this article tells me is that McShay is an idiot. What’s worse, though, is that Douglas will prove himself to be an idiot if he does what McShay says. And that’s pretty much a disaster scenario. 5 1

Without that coach, dont think anyone knows anything (although i think JD thinks Darnold can be very good with the right coach).

Who we hire as coach will have an effect on the draft. Exactly. Saying that Douglas wont be swayed by one game, well thats what most of us have said, one game shouldnt trump a 3 year career either way. So if he thinks Fields career is an improvement over Darnold or he believes that Wilson would be then Monday is inconsequential to his plans for the draft. Doesnt mean hes sticking with Darnold. He may but this doesnt say he will 1

Grandy 3,867
Leaving Sam as is and not drafting a QB is dumber than extending Sanchez, who was statistically better than Darnold at this point in their careers.

All I can say is I've always thought Sammy was a franchise QB and last season hasn't changed my mind. A trade down with another team interested in taking Fields would be a windfall of badly needed picks. A trade with the Falcons in particular would allow the Jets to take Penei Sewell, a legitimate top tackle, a plug and play guy from day one. That would give the Jets probably the two best book ends in the league. Sewell won’t be there, Fins will draft him at #

He has a network of people who've been in the league for years who might have their own view on Darnold. Not too mention the dozen or so interviews he's conducting for HC, wh'e're im sure QB's have been discussed. If Douglas sticks with Darnold, they're have to be sound reasons why. For anyone on tbis board,(including me), to say. That they can't be right, is absurd.
