Pederson Fired in Philly

And that is where the similarities between the 2 end.

Tell me....how much of this post-Super Bowl record for Pederson can be attributed to Howie Roseman setting the roster on fire?

No, it's not. You've also got the whole "their own players hate them" thing.

Roseman has been awful since the Super Bowl. He also built the team that won it. Would you want to hire him if he became available? Dude built a Super Bowl winner!

Let's assume you're right, although I'm not yet convinced.

What do you think Dougie Fresh and Joe Dougie want to do at QB?

Go after Nick Foles, Draft a QB later, roll with Darnold, some combination of all?

My personal opinion is that Pederson would likely want to mold a QB from scratch.  I think he tries to bring in Nick Foles AND he wants to draft a QB like Wilson or Fields at #2.  There are 2-3 other OT's that are 1st round worthy in ADDITION TO Sewell and we already have Becton.  I think the Jets Draft an OT at #23 (Sam Cosmi) or later (Alex Leatherwood).

Pederson had Hurts playing pretty well.  If the the Doug & Douglas show thinks ANY of Fields, Wilson or Lance are better than Hurts then they'll pull the trigger and start fresh.

Exactly what i was thinking

Putting Wentz and his sorry ass on the bench is what did him in. Supposedly Wentz is the most influential person in the organization other than the owner.

So dumb. They don’t need to look further than one Daniel Snyder to see how choosing a young petulant QB over a coach who turned the team around can backfire.

So it appears that Wentz/Roseman won out over Pederson.

never good when your star QB hates the QB and vice versa

Or maybe the coach had the balls to say that his money making QB, Wentz, is just not the future of the team.   They said he was tired of being told what to do.  Maybe they they preferred him not to make that move to Jalen.

Prior to the last game of this season (players apparently didn't like how he managed it), where did it say the players hated him?

So it's the irreparable damage done between him and Wentz and since the organization is financially handcuffed to Wentz, Pederson had to go.

How is the Gase comparison not apt? You have players in the media openly calling him out, poisoned his relationship with his star QB to the point that was publicized as being 'irreparable'.

Squeaked into the playoffs with loaded rosters two years in a row after the miracle Super Bowl whilst playing in the weakest division in the entirety of the NFL. His QB has gone from a star under Reich to a complete bust under his tutelage, and haven't we learned that coaches who get fired and re-hired a week later don't learn anything?

Pederson won a SB and won the division the very next season, too.  Gase went 0-1 in the playoffs.

When it comes to "poisoning relationships", this was overblown with Gase but not so much Pederson.  The big takeaway, however, is that much of this "poisoning" was due to Wentz, not Pederson.  Pederson helped Wentz put up big numbers his first 3 seasons in the league, yet all reports suggest Wentz is a jerk who doesn't listen to coaches and improvises too often to the team's detriment.  He also alienates his teammates.

Meanwhile, the ownership/front office still wants to stick with Wentz while Pederson was ready to move on.  Obviously that led to Wentz feeling more "emboldened" to tell Pederson to essentially f**k off.

Those same players will love playing for Gase!
No one will want that job!
Old injured over the cap team! With an overpaid bad QB on the bench!

This is the type of HC I'd never thought we'd get again. Absolute, grand slam, no-brainer.

It's no coincidence that Roseman stopped making good decisions the moment Joe Douglas left the building.  Douglas got tired of not being listened to there.

They are now $50M+ over the cap entering the offseason.  Whatever good things Roseman brought to the table are effectively neutralized by that fact.  His 2019 draft was god awful and the Wentz and Alshon Jeffery contracts are abominations.

Roseman sucks.

Also, Pederson's players don't "hate" him.  Stop it.  Even if they don't like him, who cares?  You're not always supposed to like your boss.  If he's good at what he does it doesn't matter a whole lot, outside of a couple free agents not coming to play for you.  Lots of players hated Parcells and Belichick.

Roseman sucks.

That settles it. I'm eating eagle instead of turkey for Thanksgiving going forward.
