Would you Trade John Abraham to...

Detroit for Roy Williams or Shaun Rodgers/Someobody else and a pick??

( If anybody mentions Joey harrington in this thread I will murder them in their sleep)

What makes you think Detroit would take the cap it, plus losing a pick and trying to sign Abraham? Honestly, I don't see Detroit making any moves. Abraham isn't going to be moved for players. It's almost impossible in the NFL, today. He'll be moved for draft picks.

And, when I opened this, I knew it was to Detroit, and for players that are, basically untouchable, especially Shuan Rogers. Rogers is arguably the best DT in the league. It'd cost way too much to get him.

With a new pass-happy OC in Mike Martz, Detroit's as likely to get rid of their best young receiver as you are of suddenly becoming enamored with the idea of trading Abe for Joey Harrington.

Yep. I wouldn't mind that first round pick, though. ;) Since they are interested, are they really willing to give it up? 4 and 9 could give us so much flexibility in terms of who we want to get.

If they are interested, it's for their 2nd rounder, not for their first. No way they give up the #9 pick for Abe.

...though I'd love it if they did.

I know. Especially since draft picks are like gold these days. At this point, I'd take one of Denver's first rounds for Abe. IMO, that is our best option. (If we trade Abe for Ramsey, it would be a large waste - he is getting cut anyway)

So it's your understanding that the Detroit Lions won't make a single roster move?

and Impossible like Portis for bailey or impossible like Moss for Coles??

It's my understanding that they're trying to maintain, not subtract. They might add free agents, but not trading.

In today's NFL? It's nearly impossible. Alot of factors have to be taken into it. But, if you'd like to go back further, I'm sure you can find other trades. Besides those two trades, do you really have any other examples of players being traded for players?

And, as far as trading Roy or Shaun plus picks, for Abraham? That's a dream. Not only is that a bad trade for the Lions, it can't be done. The cap hit the Lions would have to take, the reworked deal the player would want from the Jets, the long term deal that Abraham would want...

Great. Now lets all pretend were Jets fans and we don't give a crap about the Lions perspective. Would you trade abe for Roy Williams?

It's that simple.
