Greensleeves
Looks like things are deteriorating fast for Houston and Watson. If you were the GM of the Jags do you make this move? We have to kick the tires on a trade too. They could pick their new franchise QB and we have the cap space and capital to get it done while still grabbing some linemen and WRs for Watson.
Untouchable
Hell no If that’s the case, then they really screwed up by hiring Urban Meyer and sticking known dickbag Trent Baalke in the temporary GM spot. And evidently Shad Kahn knows more about roided up dudes fake fighting each other than he does about foosball.

jgb
Rationally, it’s a no brainer to trade first overall for Watson. But teams do fall in love...

long time suffering Jets f
Not happening. If you look at teams with the most draft capital for trade bait, it’s coming down to the Jets, Dolphins, and 49’s. Offer pick 23 along with both 1’s in 2022 along with Darnold. Try to hold on to the #2 pick so we can trade back to replenish some draft picks. If the trade ultimately hinges on the 2nd pick by all means give it up. A talent like Watson doesn’t come around very often. I hope JD is on the phone already. 1
jeremy2020
Sure, but there's no way that Houston lets him go. Could you imagine getting rid of Hopkins then Watson in subsequent years? That entire front office and coaching staff would be dead immediately. The media is going to hype this story to the extreme. It's a dream for them so they're not going to lay out the implications Houston would face because it would kill the story.
QB1
I think there is a better chance of us trading up to 1 than that.

GothamLurker
Census is, they would. Would I trade an unproven commodity, for perhaps the best QB talent in the NFL, YES!!!!! Dude has no OL, no real WR core, no running game, crappy coaching, but he just had maybe his best season......No big deal.....LOL If Urban is the coach, I would not put it pass JAX to nab Watson. Urban loves QBs like Watson. Look at all the QBs he had.....12 Gage, JT, Braxton, lesser degree.......Haskins, etc..... This is what it would take to land Watson. He is the most valuable player not named Mahomes.

Beerfish
I'd do it if i was jacksoville. Watson is a proven great Qb and has heart. Lawrence is vastly overrated. He is the 1 prospect in this draft but this 'generational ' stuff is just nonsense.

section314
This will be a new twist. We’ve had owners and GM’s forcing position coaches on HC’s. Now, we’ll have the first player forcing a coach(Bienemy) on a franchise. Good stuff.?

And possibly number 2 as well. Then, you take the #2 pick and trade down, and recoup all that draft capital. Because of O'Brien's lunacy these past two seasons, the Texans do not pick until the 3rd round this year. They are $20 million over the cap, and have a VERY expensive and pissed off toy in Watson. There is NO WAY IN HELL I would give them the #2 pick, knowing they are in a bind and need out of it with no picks until round three. #23 + #34 and Sam Darnold should get it done. Its not like Deshaun Watson is just some WR complaining about touches or something like that. He is the face of the entire franchise, he is enormously impactful in the community and should be treated as such. Bill Parcells said it best - The players will all be treated fairly, they just wont be treated the same. Watson has earned the right to be a huge part of the organization's process. He should not be allowed to pick the coach or GM, but having some input after being TOLD he would have input is extremely reasonable. I dont think hes doing anything wrong. jamesr
Can't see one team trading a legit FQB to a division rival, nor that division rival trading the "next great thing" in return.
