Congrats to Gregg Knapp. If the Jets are sticking with Sam, Knapp will be Sam's FIRST QB coach.

Has any other top 10 QB pick every gone through his first 3 seasons without a dedicated position coach?

Both Bates and Loggains served as QB coaches over Darnold's 3 season.  Your argument may be based on having a standalone coach but its not uncommon to have coaches take on multiple roles.

Glad to see "gray head" coaches being added to the staff.  You just can't have

young guys, experienced coaches who have seen everything are important to

a young HC

As well as young OC...Knapp and Benton are great gets for LaFluer

watch for this guy as DC. Saleh was LB coach under him in Jacksonville where he was DC. LB coach now so this would be promotion.

I imagine if he comes we 'maybe' get his son also

He may make the move to Jets for his son to take over for him in Buffalo. Pay raise for him and son in one fell swoop

Ty Johnson with his one cut speed and explosiveness gonna be a good fit in this offense.  Stretch run plays behind Becton, with a player like Mims blocking CBs.  A staple to begin with.

I think the same...

That is why I said he did not have a "dedicated" QB coach. I agree that it is not uncommon for a veteran QB. Has it ever happened, other than to Darnold, for a QB in his first 3 years as a pro?

What's holding up on some names to hear for DC and that staff.  I figured him being on the Defensive side he would have had that worked out before Offense... Just my guess.

They may still be in the playoffs which means Saleh would have to wait ...just a guess
