What you're talking about will affect the low end of the market. All pro types get paid in 5 year spans like Watson. They might have to front load it (like Watson) but if ramcyzk makes it to market, he will get more than Trent brown less than bakthairi. That's how it's going to happen

What's the alternative he takes Jamal Adams 15 mil because no one else can afford? Believe it when we see it

Assuming these players would want to go to NY/NJ

All Pro RT Ryan Ramczyk will command today, what Sewell would get in 5 years

Sewell is younger, more athletic and had a better PFF CFB grade than Ramczyk, who is 3rd all time in their grades behind QNelson at 2 and Sewell at 1

If the Jets line is so terrible that they are going to spend 19 mil a year on Ramczyk or just draft the younger better player I don't see why that's a hard decision

game theory they draft the premium OL spend the 19 mil elsewhere like edge where there is no high upside guy at 2

Question is would Fant be a worse RT for his salary than some of these others at twice as much money or Sewel at#2 who is still a college player that didn't play this last season and who knows how great he will be. Jets may be better suited to use the cap space on the interior of the Oline at G and and maybe C then try and get a RT in rounds 2/3 where we have 3 picks to groom behind Fant for a year or so.

Baseball depends on the attendance of 82 home games. Football TV ratings are still going up and the next cba will be bigger than the last

According to Nielsen, excluding rescheduled games because of the pandemic, the 2020 regular season averaged 15.4 million viewers (live + same day), a 7% decline from the previous regular season. It was the lowest average audience since 2017

Sports overall are losing a lot of viewers due to the politicization of sports.... and that’s ok. To each his own.
NBA - Way down

MLB- Way down

Read several articles saying NFL ad revenues were down. League had to give advertisers “free” ad time in back half of season to make up for revenue already collected but not earned. Viewing stats did not meet contract specs so a discount on future ads was required.

Also wonder how eager the owners will be to shield the PA from economic fallout. Last few years have seen PA be pretty aggressive in negotiating training camp and player rights issues. Wouldn’t be surprised if owners were willing to let tough economic times hit players pretty hard.

Looking forward to seeing the final cap $ for 2121.

Couple of questions re upcoming FA negotiations.

Will more top players take 1 year deals or take a discount for multi year deals?

Mid tier fa’s may come at a discount as some GMs chase top FAs and then face severe budget restrictions.

JD might add a few players without compromising Jets salary cap. This would allow Jets to take a solid first step in 21 and be in position to add a couple of top players in 22.
