Let's give Christopher Johnson some credit for evolving and getting it right this time

He has two years of being a loser owner, and has now secured well respected and highly sought after candidates at GM and HC. Hess and Woody each have more years as loser owners. Not sure what equation you’re calculating to get to your end result.

Chris has been in charge for I suppose 3 years??  But what a mess we have been.   Im not measuring years, I am measuring W-L, roster etc. ALL have been a mess under Chris.  Im fine with Douglas and Saleh but they are both unproven.  This board got excited at the hiring of Bowles too.  The interference of the Johnson's is apparent.  The fact that a GM has to report to Chris and Chris is gonna say what???    He knows zero.

Woody being back is a great thing. Chris doesn't get praise for finally doing something right that was really easy to do.  Chris needs to go away when woody is officially back.

Everyone was waiting, predicting that CJ would F up the hire.  Wouldnt let JD perform the search, would have too much interference into the process.  Then reality happens, he allows JD to lead the search, is involved to the same degree as any owner should, approves of the HC who we all love and then come back with, he doesnt deserve praise for doing the right thing?

For apparently handling the last two hires, the GM who led this hire and the HC hired

Big of everyone.

Whats your grad idea of how a team should be run?  No one reports to the owner?  What dream organization are you seeing?

I’m quite confident that Belicek doesn’t have to run his decisions through Kraft. Kraft knows he should second guess mumbles.

The packers are a public company. They have a President. A FOOTBALL man.  No spoiled brat trust baby to answer too.

those are 2 examples of well run organizations.

We all know he entered this too inexperienced and completely messed up in 2018.  Set this franchise back and maybe even ruined Sam.  We've beat that horse to death now.

But I'll give the guy credit, because he heard the criticism, evolved, and got it right this time.

Joe Douglas was allowed to run the HC search and he made the right hire.  The reporting structure is now fixed too.  It's Douglas's show with GM and HC on the same page.

Even if it is a bit late, thanks Chris.  I feel better about the future leadership of this organization than any time Woody has owned this team.  Of course, this being the Jets, now that Woody is back Chris is no longer in charge, just when he seemed to be moving up the Johnson bros power rankings.

As long as he/they give me a refund for the years he/they screwed up.

Not all owners are created equal.  Many teams have owners who know at least something about football.  Other owners are just good business men and women with instincts that allow them to hire the right people, create the right organization, et al.  The Johnsons are neither.  The previous reporting structure was dysfunctional.

For example, they traded for Tebow and never played him.  Who was behind the trade?  Tannenbaum?  Rex?  Woody?  Total dysfunction.  If a trade is made now, we know who made it.  Perhaps with input from others but Douglas owns it.

The Packers are completely different than the 31 teams of the NFL.  As a public company there isn’t a single owner like with every other team.  The rest of the league is set up with their HC & GM reporting ultimately to their owner.

Now you can be confident that Belichick doesn’t run his decisions through Kraft if you want, but that would be wrong.  It’s been widely reported that BB wanted to trade Brady to make way for Garoppolo and that Kraft vetoed it and then forced the trade of Garoppolo.

Funny how perception works.

When we stop hearing about Tebow?  Listen to Westy.  He swears it wasn’t a WJ deal, that they wanted him for a lot of reasons and then, his words, they got him to camp and he sucked.  Our fan base that always needs to blame, blamed WJ.  If it worked out, like Fabre pre-injury, then what?
Trades and moves don’t work it’s the owner is an idiot.  Trades and moves that work elsewhere, good owners.  I get it
