Deshaun's trade value just went WAY DOWN.  This is great news.

Not really but that would be cool.

this is good for us.

Miami could get Stafford for there late #1 this year and maybe one or two 2s.

i dont think Miami is a serious trade  partner for Watson cause i dont think they want to part with the 3rd pick. i think they could keep it in a Stafford trade.

Another team who could be looking to trade up to #2...or for Sam. Beautiful.

Except Stafford will be signed to start somewhere else, taking away a team that "could be looking to trade up to #2".

Net effect, zero change to the value of #2.

Well it depends. If its a team picking in the 20’s that sign Stafford, then they were never really in the mix to trade up with us.

But yea if its Carolina that’s a big blow to our trade down potential.

I think Carolina and now Detroit are our best trade down options. After that Denver seems determined to run it back with Lock one more time. Let’s see what happens with Dallas and Dak. San Fran might be a possibility but going from 12 to 2 would take a lot.

Agreed, just saying that it seems to be.

I’d personally draft Wilson at 2 and ship Sam off to the highest bidder.

Why does it "seem to be"?   Because we all heard the traditional GM/Coach speak about how they love Darnold?  IMO, there is no "it seems to be". Everything said publicly is pre free agency coach/GM propaganda.

Perfect fit for New England.  He’s got Vinny Testeverde arm talent with more gas in the tank then when Parcells brought him to the Jets.  With there opt outs coming back and adding a dynamic playmaker on O they would contend immediately.

ok,.. so.. has anything Like this ^ ^  ever happened before ?   ?

I've been harping on the Jets not to become HOU or DET.  Teams
with high priced, stat producing QB's but incomplete rosters
that don't win.  And now in the space of a week both teams are
in turmoil, coincidence?  I don't think so.  Build the roster
properly first then make a splash move.  Not the other way
around

Perhaps this is what is meant by “there are no shortcuts”?

If Stafford goes for a 2nd rounder or less,  we ain't getting d*ck for Sammy.

It's  a different market for Stafford. He will go to a team that is built. Miami, Colts, Bears would actually make sense if they want to make a push. Sam is going to be traded to a team that is still building.

Colts: trade 21st overall and a 3rd rounder for Stafford

Lions: trade 21st overall, 7th overall and 2nd rounder for the number 2 overall

Jets: trade the 7th overall, 21st overall, 23rd overall and Darnold to the Texans for Watson

why wouldn't the jets just trade the 2 pick to the texans for watson?  not to rain on the parade but there is also the matter of watson's contract.  i'm not 100% sure on this but he's at 40 million of salary cap hit for the 22 and 23  seasons.  this may work out for the jets since they really only have maye and qwill to lock up in this time period.  mosely will be coming off the books in a couple of seasons.  and darnold won't be there.

The Colts immediately come to mind if they would want to double down on what they tried to do with Rivers.  They also don't seem like the kind of team particularly eager to go all-in on a rookie.

Colts sticking to their masterful plan.

On what planet is 5000 yds in one season allowed in the same conversation as the Sanchez ????? Not only that .... 8 Season over 4000 something Sanchez never sniffed. Your comment is comical.
