$50 kept Willie Mays and Hank Aaron from being teammates

Pretty cool article today on MLB.com. Back in the 1950's, while Willie was already with the Giants, the Braves and Giants had made Henry offers. The Braves offer was for $50 more per month, $500/month adjusted in today's salary structure. Don't ever remember hearing that story.

Never heard that before.  Imagine some of those '60s Giants teams.  Mays, Cepeda, McCovey.  And then add Aaron to the mix.  Wow.

Think they might have been in the WS quite a few times from 1961-to 1968. No shot in 1969.😁
