sec101row23
I’ve always maintained that I would take the great roster over the great head coach any day of the week. If you don’t have the players, you simply can’t compete regardless of the coach.

This article, though primarily about GB, contracts the off season approaches of GB and TB. TB added a lot more players than GB, to surround their QB with the best they could get. they went all in, and is got them to the dance. GB stayed pat, and are staying home. https://www.nfl.com/news/aaron-rodgers-postgame-comments-a-message-to-packers-brass-that-organizational-m

Yes it's very difficult to parse out player from teammates, and yea a great WR helps (like when Moss was added to NE in 2007) but sometimes the obvious is just staring you in the face NE offense dvoa fell from #11 to #23 swapping Brady for Cam (the 2 years prior they were 5 and #1) TB increased from #23 to #3 In both instances by far the most signficant change was Brady. The QB makes the whole thing work and is by far the most important position in football player or staff Fair enough. I think it’s clear both teams have the two best quarterbacks and are the two most loaded with weapons in the NFL. Why I mentioned it originally? Because being a loaded roster with loaded #weapinz, while not exactly easy, is far more replicable than finding the next Mahomes/Brady. The 49ers last year, the Eagles the year before - these are far better models for us than worrying about the Brady/Mahomes echelon.

The issue with going the non QB route is your window is exceedingly small. A top QB gives you 10+ years of potential SB wins. A great defense is much harder to hold together, the Jets had one for 2 years and then it was gone

Brady has been great for them, but this is a very good team surrounding him. yep. they replaced winston with tommy boy because winston was a turnover machine. pretty interesting considering that winston threw for 5000 yards. He went to a team with a great defense, a great OL, the best receiving core in the league, and a great head coach. Then brought in a HOF TE. This season proved nothing. Same team as last year with different QB - they went 7-9 last year. Can't get more obvious than that.

I barely do. Peaked one year with a nice defense then that's it. No QB to remain competitive and well....we see where they are now.

Which do you think is more realistic?
