Sperm Edwards
Who (supposedly) has/had the better arm? Matt Leinart Drew Brees (pre-injury of course) Classify it any way you like, by strength on long passes, intermediate passes, out-patterns, accuracy on any of the above, or whatever. I never watched Brees in college & only saw 2 of Leinart's games. Only ask b/c that may be a comparison they're weighing with Brian Schottenheimer as OC. Shadetree
If they move up to #1 and DO NOT take Reggie Bush, I'll puke my draft day breakfast all over the living room couch. Abe and #4 overall for Leinart?? No freakin way!!!!

I never watched Brees in college & only saw 2 of Leinart's games. Only ask b/c that may be a comparison they're weighing with Brian Schottenheimer as OC. In college, Brees was a very mobile qb who operated Joe Tiller's spread offense very well. Just like a WCO, Brees relied on getting a ball to a WR in stride and allowing him to get YAC. Brees was proficient at it and used his legs even more to get away from pressure and then throw on the run. I really have not seen a tremendous amount of Brees at SD, but I think they go a little bit more of a deep pass than Tiller's offense. Certainly, he hits Gates in teh seems and allows him to position his body for catches.

LionelRichie
that the jets are giving the TEXANS #4 and J.ABE for the #1 pick for LEINART.. if the jets are going to shell out huge $$ for a QB they may as well get the one they want. i think leinart is going to be a great pro i don't where all of this anti-leinart sentiment comes from. his arm strength is fine, he would have been #1 overall last year and he had a better '05 than he had in '04. his body of work is one of the most impressive ever compiled at the college level and all of the NFL teams have plenty of tape to see him make all of the throws. not only have the scouts seen all of his game tape they have probably seen numerous USC practices as well. i still think schaub or croyle are better solutions cost wise but i would be very happy with leinart under center i would just rather see him perform at the pro level before committing a ton of $$ to him. Schaub has played only a couple of games so don't get too nuts over him. Remember Doug Johnson? Croyle is very injury prone and I don't want him. I would trade up to get Bush, not Leinart. He had a few good games with the Jags and the Bills paid handsomely for him only to find out he wasn't that good.

That's the beauty of this draft...no one knows what the hell we're going to do. We may have fans blowing themselves up or we may be purchasing a new jersey. Going to be very interesting to say the least. Stayed tuned...
faba
April 29th we will all find out Leinart by all the things hinted out of the media we are not interested in- the worse thing we can do is trade up IMO for any one in the draft
AFJF
This would be an absolutely horrible trade....this team should be focusing on trading down from #4 to add a couple of picks and then trading abe to add a couple more. Too many holes to fill and a pro bowl DE with a #4 is too much to trade up to #1.
The Troll
Trading up for Lineart when Cutler is likely to be sitting there at 4 would be worse than anything Bradway ever did. If the Jets do trade up to 1, it had better be for Bush. And even then, I would not like the trade.
aec4
that the jets are giving the TEXANS #4 and J.ABE for the #1 pick for LEINART.. Now if the Texans toss in their 2nd rounder we have a deal. If they did that, that would give Abraham a "value" of 1780 using the chart, which is just less than the #4 pick in the draft. Without the 2nd rounder from the Texans, Abraham's "value" is 1200, which is the #12 pick in the draft. Wasn't he drafted 13th? (He could have been 12th, but the Jets took Ellis with that since they had back to back picks and th ought Ellis was easier to sign). With that said, if you threw Abraham in the draft right now... He'd go 1, 2, or 3.
