2021 NY JETS/NFL FREE AGENCY DRAFT TRADES RUMORS HAPPENINGS ***

Whatever decision is made at #2, will be JD’s biggest decision of his life. If he trades back, and Wilson turns out to be a franchise QB, he will never step foot in NY.

So it’s impossible for him to build a great roster and hit on a QB next year? This is the only chance the Jets will ever have at drafting a first round qb? Got it.

Imagine if he trades Sam and drafts Wilson.

Sam succeeds elsewhere and Wilson sucks.

Safer move is to keep Sam.  At least then the excuse is he wanted to give our #3 pick a legit NFL offense at least once before getting rid of him.

The problem is what if Fields or Wilson becomes a clear franchise guy and we backed off from being able to take them. That’s a fireable offense.

I just can't imagine he doesn't take a QB at 2.  Likely Wilson.

Even if he takes Fields and Wilson becomes great (or vice/versa) people can live with it...

but to trade out for a couple more picks (when we're already loaded with picks) and simply pass on those guys would be crazy.  Yes, he would become another joke in a long like of joke GM's.

Add Lance, and Fields to that as well. If any of these guys hit and Darnold likely continues to be Darnold, then he gets kicked out of the big apple pronto. Plus with recent trends in mind, it's highly likely that one or more of them hits.

Except a scenario when the worst QB in the league becomes a franchise QB is extremely unlikely. It’s a bad bet for Douglas.

So if he keeps Sam Darnold and we go 2-14 again is that good enough reason to fire him.

I’m not impressed with JD at all this year but I think many fans are over looking this. We are a TERRIBLE organization and NJ/NY is not ideal for many players.

But haven't we heard how respected JD is and how much players love and respect Saleh?

Wasn't that the narrative we were being pitched?

Deciding to stick with the worst QB in the NFL who based on historical trends is like 5% likely to be any good instead of using a top 3 pick to grab a guy in a QB heavy draft is as risky as you can get.

People act like sticking with Darnold is safe when it has the highest chance to blow up in JD's face, and also speeds up his clock no matter what.
