This is an interesting point. I'm wondering if WR's see that he doesn't have the patience to let them get open, but just tucks and run after 2- 3 secs. These guys bust their humps to get to the spot and get the ball, and if it doesn't come, it starts to wear on you.

I expect to see a few more of these types of deals trickle in before the draft. Jets should also be well positioned after the draft to pick up vets to fill holes that didn't get addressed in the draft.

Add in the fact that the 2 teams making big moves with Miami (SF & PHI) are the closest relationships to current management. I don’t think either of them make those moves unless Howie knows what JD is doing and Shanny knows from Saleh.

I would argue that “there were no trade up talks with the Jets at 2” doesn’t quite mean there were no phone calls.

I took those comments to mean SF called and Douglas was not interested. We can speculate on why he wasn’t interested.  But not having trade talks doesn’t mean SF never called .

Just watch the Zach Wilson pro day and keep an eye on the Jets trio. John Lynch was standing right next to our guys at one point and engaged in small talk. We don’t have Macc who nobody likes. Absolutely no way John Lynch didn’t call us.

Howie Roseman and Joe D have a good relationship. Roseman wanted to trade up for Zach Wilson and looked at going up to 3. But since that doesn’t guarantee Zach Wilson, he didn’t pull the trigger. Absolutely no way he didn’t call Joe since the #2 would guarantee Wilson.

The number 2 pick is not for sale. We’re just waiting for Wilson’s medicals to clear before we trade Darnold.
