Jets “anticipate” Fans back in 2021

Very encouraging email sent to season ticket holders today. Jets clearly anticipate fans back in 2021 and said they are working with state of NJ to help make that happen. Another good sign, they are starting to charge monthly payments again.

...

So pumped to get back in my seat! Ps go get your shot when you can!

Hey I took out that one line. I know you have nothing but great intentions and I didn't want anyone to take it in the wrong direction.  Thanks.

As counterintuitive as those words are, I know just what you mean. I clicked through that workflow and realized I was paying for football again. And, for some reason, it actually felt kind of good...

If society is not completely opened up by September we are going to have much bigger issues than who is playing QB for the NY Jets and which lot we're going to tailgate.

I mean certain states will be and certain states/sectors will still be leveraging fear. The vaccine unfortunately isnt going to stop people from leveraging BS...

Just send Murphy packing and we’re home free.

The problem is the behavior of the people not the government.  One NJ Devil goes out with friends, the whole team is shut down.  Two KC Chiefs are in protocol 6 days before the Super Bowl.  They can't help themselves.  And they're athletes.  Imagine the fans behavior.

I mean, seriously, you've been to enough Jets games to know what would happen if the fans were left to their own sense of good judgement and safety.  This is the group that burned their painters hats on MNF, chanted We Want The Pumpkin, threw coins and beer down stairwells as human target practice, tailgate like a warzone, miss the first quarter drinking in the parking lots, miss the second quarter pissing, fight each other.  Even in my somewhat civilized section I sit next to a husband and wife who can't control their alcoholism.  No way I'd trust them with my health.

So.....I'm all for getting vaccinated and attending games in 2021 so long as the Jets have a great distancing concept and, most importantly, the muscle to enforce it.  Jets games, unlike all the other team sports in town, is the most problematic.

I don’t seee them distancing if 60 percent of the nation is vaccinated by September. Moreover I expect masks and a 72 hour negative test to be mandated. Also going in the favor of fans/Jets is open air environment unlike an arena.  A football game will most likely be more safe then a trip to your local supermarket.

If Vaccine distribution truly prioritizes  those that have suffered the most, Jets fans should be the first in line for the vaccine. So this makes sense.

Agree with everything you wrote here. I just don't have any faith in our current leadership to actually make an intelligent decision. The good news is, this won't really be an issue for another 5-6 months, and hopefully, most people will have been vaccinated by then.

Not if Darnold is still the QB

Not going to kill you ( are all the others who share this opinion)- for one more year. The Jets are way more than just a quarterback away from being a team anywhere NEAR ready to compete for anything next year. Would I absolutely love to have Watson??? Definitely!!! But ( if it were up to me- no way I give the ridiculous amount for the asking price). This team has way too many holes to fill and they should be filling them with all the premium picks our GM set up last year.

You could possibly draft one with that #2 this year- but only if the Jets are really high on one. Otherwise they should be taking Sewell and have two absolute beast bookend tackles. Use the rest of the picks to build the core of this team. Then worry about the quarterback.

No matter how bad the team is any team is one really good offseason away from being a playoff team.  It's been proven over and over and over again.  You have to hire the right people that can get players and coach players.  I THINK we finally have that but we'll see.

The Jets have some young talent, they have tons of picks and they have cap room.  It is a realistic goal to be a playoff team IF they make the right decisions regarding who they bring in this offseason.

I’m not gonna kill you but taking Sewell at 2 is also a way for me to decide I no longer want to follow this team. Bad team building is bad team building.

This was the best part of Jet football for the last 30 years . P.S. I still have my painter's cap .

Or, conversely, let people make their own risk assessment: Attend a football game in an outdoor stadium or stay home.

I think we can do both.  Perhaps take the upper deck and make it an unmasked free-for-all and let those in the mezzanine and lower decks have masks, spacing, testing, etc.

It's a big stadium.  We can accommodate all no matter their risk level.

If the Jets have a social distancing policy at home games with limited capacity, it won't be because they want it that way.

They want as many people in that stadium as they can fit. And they want it that way from Week One onward. Revenue took a huge hit last year.
