I don't love Mangini, he was a god awful tone death egomaniac. But, for some reason, while he was the jets HC, Tanny was able to draft reasonably well, even spending 2 first round picks on O linemen in their first draft together. And then after Mangini was gone, "poof!" Tanny can't draft anymore.  ...... Hmmmmm I wonder why ...... ?

And I give Tanny credit for those first few drafts. He was the GM and he had final say. But Tanny was clearly influenced by Mangini in their drafts together. 

I don't blame Rex for the bad drafts. They are on Tanny. He's not a scout and should have done a better job determining who to listen to when it came to drafting players.
