Popular Post Tranquilo
He might be better than Becton but he also has a legend at QB making calls and releasing the ball a lot quicker than whoever we have. He's also playing RT. It's not an apples to apples comparison. And Becton rules, screw you, man. 15 2 4

Popular Post mrcoops
I'm very happy with Becton. He was the right pick. One thing I will say - if we had taken Wirfs last year, played him at RT and put Fant on the left, it would be very appealing to stay at 2 and pick Sewell this year.

Irish Jet
He's what transformed the team. Had Brady been behind Jameis' line they probably don't make the playoffs. There's no complaints with Becton but Wirfs is exceptional. For all those who play down the importance of right tackle look no further than his impact. 3 6
Popular Post bgivs21
You can't have the conversation and say LT or RT aside as that is a huge consideration. Then add in the fact that the entire TB offense is loaded with talent at every position. You'll never be able to compare the two properly
Popular Post Barry McCockinner
You're comparing two different positions in two entirely different situations. Popular Post HawkeyeJet
I would bet my bottom dollar if there was a league wide expansion draft, where all teams rosters were wiped clean and redrafted (like a fantasy draft) Becton would go ahead of Wirfs 10 times out of 10. The Bucs realised this and ensured he had the time he needs. Wirfs was elite from day one and done the job.
Popular Post playtowinthegame
One of the best abilities is availability, so advantage Wirfs right now. Becton needs to get on the Quinnen Williams diet this off-season. 5

Their line in 2019 was actually ranked 7th by PFF after the season. Adding Wirfs absolutely helped but you're way overstating his impact as the line was already in good shape. Brady coming is what pushed them over the edge.

Rhg1084
They’re both really good so it’s tough to argue who’d you rather have. I’m happy with Becton and would probably take him again over Wirfs if the draft was tomorrow. Now if we ended up with Andrew Thomas over Becton or Wirfs? Then it’d be a legitimate problem
Popular Post Joe W. Namath
Wirfs had a better year then Becton. Thats not debateable. But its a little early for this conversation. Lets take a look at this again at the end of next year.
HawkeyeJet
I'll add this. Wirfs, coming from Iowa and Ferentz is about as pro ready as OL can get. Wirfs, compared to some other Iowa OL was actually a bit raw, but overall absolutely closer to a finished product Day 1 than Becton was.

section314
Jackie Slater, Anthony Munoz, Orlando Pace, Walter Jones, Jonathan Ogden, Joe Thomas. What did they all have in common? Hint, they didn't play RT?
Popular Post Sonny Werblin
Wirfs was the surest pick at T in the draft and getting to play RT for a QB that knows his protections and gets rid of the ball fast helps quite a bit. Nothing about how well he performed was a surprise. Becton was drafted for his potential. Many evaluators labeled him boom or bust. When healthy Becton showed that what is to come may make him the best LT in all of football and matched with a Road Grader LG could give the Jets a near unstoppable run game. If he overcomes his injury bug, he will without question become the best LT taken in that draft. Wirfs will be the best RT. 4 1
