AMJets
Mawae was just on ESPN Radio, and said that he feels the Jets don't want him anymore, and he doesn't want to play for a team that doesn't want him.
Smizzy
Translation = My better days are behind me,hopefully somebody else will be dumb enough to pay me. Sorry Brenda...But bye Kevin. mudcat21
I'd keep him on the team next year as punishment for being a crybaby and a guy who refused to restructure.

The Troll
What a drama queen. I don't know if I have ever been more disappointed in a player than I am in Kevin Mawae. If you can get a draft pick for him, do it now. Otherwise, he's gone for nothing in the next two days.
Matt39
Well, Mawae's always had an opinion. The guy doesn't know what he wants. Whether it was tough love from Groh or the coddling of Herm, both we're wrong in his eyes.
mdjet
his no-name agent is on with Stephen A Smith of all people today and then he goes on the radio to spew this nonsense, he knows he has a better deal with the Cowboys or someone else and wants out of here, who can blame him, he has 2 years tops left...plus at 35 he is going to the Wharton school to learn about business and whatnot.... ThunderbirdJet
Mawae has been running at the mouth way to much for me recently. His bashing LI, to this. get the F out Mawae. Yesterday was too late for my tastes. He has really turned into a scum bag. At least we'll never have to debate where he stands on the all time Jets list, unless it's in the turd section. Translation= I want alot of money to stay even though i'm old and i'm not willing to take a pay cut for the team ala Curtis Martin, so hopfully I can sucker another team to overpay me. The Fat Man
Mawae was just on ESPN Radio, and said that he feels the Jets don't want him anymore, and he doesn't want to play for a team that doesn't want him. Herman wanted out and used the media. Heimerdinger wanted out and used the media. Marrone wanted out and used the media. Mawae wants out and is using the media. Abraham wants out and is using the media. Good Bye Fags!

Mavrik
Nothing but a transition Out with the old, in with the new. Mawae realizes the old guard is done with. By 2007, this team is going to look nothing like the competitve teams of 02, and 04. I can't blame him for saying no. If my boss asked me to take less money, I'd say no too.but he's gotta realize he has maybe 2 years left in him.
CluJet
Let him go. Did great for us while he was here, but the man is a few days younger than the head coach. Operation CleanHouse continues...

faba
If willing to compromise we could use Maewae at center to provide some toughness and leadership on the offensive line still
Bob
Does anyone remember that he already did, TWICE?! I do. I agree that it's time to part ways, but the man has a right to be bitter. He was a warrior while the franchise pissed away his best years. Good luck on your next stop, Kev. Come back and retire as a Jet, ok?

ThunderbirdJet
If your boss told you take a pay cut not once but more than once you would whine too I bet Garb Not if I'm smart enough to know that the pay cut would still pay me more than I could get elsewhere.... but Mawae isn't that smart. Mawae wants out and is using the media. Abraham wants out and is using the media. Good Bye Fags! Well said. Mawae is DONE. After the Mawae interview Steven A and BT kissed Mawae's ass like there was no tommorrow. Yes, Mawae was a great center for us but like Fabini and Kendall he is old and washed up. Whether it was tough love from Groh or the coddling of Herm, both we're wrong in his eyes. Bingo. This guy always has a complaint. See ya Kevin you were overrated anyway. When it came time to play vs a big NT you could never handle it.
