Cp561
Rest in peace. Dude was a baller and one of the more underappreciated receivers of his era. Still remember his battle with Revis in the playoff game, where Revis made the crazy circus interception 3

whodeawhodat
Vincent Jackson, ex-NFL star, dead at 38 (nypost.com) Former NFL wide receiver Vincent Jackson was found dead Monday in a hotel room in Brandon, Fla., according to police. He was 38. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is investigating the cause of death for Jackson, who was found deceased by a housekeeper at the Homewood Suites hotel at approximately 11:30 a.m. There were no apparent signs of trauma, police said. According to hotel staff, Jackson had been staying there since Jan. 11. His family reported him missing last week, according to a police report, but police located and spoke with Jackson at the hotel on Feb. 12. The missing-persons report was then canceled. “My heart aches for the many loved ones Vincent Jackson leaves behind, from his wife and children to the Buccaneers nation that adored him,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “Mr. Jackson was a devoted man who put his family and community above everything else. Football aside, he touched countless lives through his Jackson In Action 83 Foundation. We shared a passion for supporting military families, and three years ago, Jackson was even made an honorary deputy by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office to recognize his dedication to the community. He will be sorely missed by not only football fans across the country, but also the people here in Hillsborough County who reaped the benefits of his generous contributions.” Jackson played 12 seasons with the San Diego Chargers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The three-time Pro Bowler finished his career with 540 receptions for 9,080 yards and 57 touchdowns before announcing his retirement in 2018. He was selected by the Chargers in the second round of the 2005 draft and spent seven seasons in San Diego. “We are shocked and deeply saddened by news of Vincent Jackson’s sudden passing,” the Chargers said in a statement. “Vincent was a fan favorite not only for his Pro Bowl play on the field but for the impact he made on the community off of it. The work he has done on behalf of military families through his foundation in the years since his retirement has been an inspiration to all of us. We simply cannot believe he’s gone, and our hearts go out to his wife, Lindsey, their children, his parents, former teammates and everyone whose lives were touched by having known Vincent.” Buccaneers owner Bryan Glazer said in a statement that “Vincent was a consummate professional, who took a great deal of pride in his performance on and off the football field… Our deepest condolences go out to his wife, Lindsey, and the entire Jackson family.”

greenwichjetfan
Woah, nuts. I think I remember Revis matching up with him in his all-time-great ‘09 season and shutting him down completely. Even got a crazy pickle off of him. Maybe it was the ‘09 wild card game. Also distinctly remember that he shared an agent with Revis. The agent did his job - both of them got paid overmarket.
