If the market is anticipating supply outweighing demand then that is good news for a strategy of getting quality depth for reasonable prices and selectively filling some holes.

I would stay away from marquee names for big $$$ however. It never works and it really really never works for us.

Watson is the exception.

No Saints on the list.  Some players are shaking loose from there for sure.

Ramczyk and Lattemore may be extended or traded.

These guys may be cut.

Jared Cook TE, Janoris Jenkins CB, Nick Easton C, Malcolm Brown DT, Emmanuel Sanders WR, Andrus Peat G

If JD could get one of these past their prime pass rushers on a 1 year deal, I'd be fine with it. Especially if they fit the new D. We didn't even have good players for the type of D we had been running for years, I have no idea who we have that will perform in a 4-3. I think Q will likely continue to flash as a 4-3 DT. Maybe Fat next to him at NT. Idk who would provide any edge presence. Hopefully not the same as last year (no one), thus why I wouldn't mind one of those pass rushers on a 1 year deal. They will likely come cheaper than past years because of this year's cap situation.

Latimore will cost a first round pick.  I’d rather sign Bouye or Fuller and keep the pick

Fuller is a really good Corner, and he only turns 29 later this year so has a few good years left in him. I'd make him a priority if he becomes available.

Chandler Jones would be a great addition, but he's not going to come cheap and will have a lot of suitors.

Anthony Barr?  Agree a nice contract with him, then pull it when he's at the airport waiting to fly in to sign it.

Connor Hughes doesn’t even hide his laziness.

1. Googled “2021 nflfree agents”

2. Scans list - only recognizes the names my wife would recognize

3. Writes article based on “may OR may not” know-nothing suspense trope

4. Feverishly refreshes analytics page to count clicks

None of those guys are FAs, though

Brees restructured his contract for 2021 to reduce the cap hit by like $20 million (if I recall correctly). That may be why no Saints are on the list.

Even after that, Saints are still almost $70M over the cap.  They are in the worst hell in the history of the NFL.  However, they could potentially keep Ramzcyk and Lattimore by giving both heavily bonus-loaded new contracts.  Each is set to cost them around $11M in 2021, but they could potentially push that number down by half or more.  And that's if they want to keep Lattimore who had a down year.

Guys like Kwon Alexander, Janoris Jenkins and Nick Easton are likely goners.  But even that isn't nearly enough.  They are currently in good shape in 2022 and beyond, but they are going to have to push all of this pain forward and deal with it again next year (Terron Armstead for example).  What they really need is a good draft and they only have 5 picks to work with.  Tough times in NO.

Easton was already cut:
