NEW MCSHAY MOCk POSTED

Zach Wilson still QB2 to Jets

Atlanta trades up to 3 for Fields

Carolina trades up to 4 for Lance

SF trades up to 9 for Jones

Sewell, Pitts, Chase, Smith, and Surtain round out top 10 (in that order)

Heavy QB, Heavy skill position top of the draft. Miami obviously big winners trading down twice and still landing Smith.

So just to be clear, the Dolphins, with a QB of clearly questionable future, trades out for a bonanza of pick value, while we got for the one-year-wonder guy whose biggest win was San Diego Barber College?

And the draft is starting QB, QB, QB, QB.  Because that happens all the time.  Just like three trade-ups in a row to the top 5, happens every year.

The QB Hypetrain is real folks.  Don't buy it.  At least not yet.

Dolphins still have Tua under control contractually. It’s a different situation.

MCshay says Wilson will go number 2 but not sure if it will be the Jets picking him, has it mocked in his latest draft but all could change.

if that many QB's going that high, trade down and load up on the talent that is falling. Build a team then get the QB, you never know who will want out next

But if we can get Watson for a reasonable price you do that.

I was leaning towards trading down, but I'm sick of never knowing if its the QB or the coaching that's the problem here.  There is still debate about Sam ffs. If what everybody is saying about our new OC is true and if what Chris Simms is correct in what he says about Wilson, then lets go for the QB. If we get this right at the very least we can finally properly evaluate the other positions on offense and not have to guess if someone is actually a good WR because we will finally find out if its the route he ran or he just sucks...or if the OL got beat or the QB took too long, etc.

If I had to bet money on an outcome the Jets are sending serious wilson smoke hoping to get multiple picks from the trade down. They might end up with fields, Sewell, or even Pitts/Slater but not at 2

There's alot of wr talk, but looking at the late Rd types that they have met with so far, a day 1 wr pick would be a surprise

So just to be clear, the Dolphins, a much deeper team than us with a QB of clearly questionable future, trades out for a bonanza of pick value, while we, an exceptionally thin-on-talent-or-depth team, go directly for the hypeflated one-year-wonder creepy looking kid whose biggest win was San Diego Barber College?

Can't wait for a certain poster who has been stalking me over my similar  opinion on Wilson sees this and tells you "Obviously you haven't  seen him play".

1. This sounds ignorant
2. If he were black you wouldn't dare say that but since he's rich and white, it's alright. But yeah, let's pretend that doesn't factor in.
Your post has no validity.
I think it has more to do with his boyish looks than anything to do with race.

Okay, so the jets take Wilson and the niners take Jones.  Since both teams are running the shanahan system why wouldn’t Douglas trade back from Wilson to select Jones?  Wilson is more mobile but how much of that is because he’s playing behind a worse oline.

It probably won't happen that way, but until you have a franchise QB, you should probably continue drafting a QB (doesn't necessarily have to be the first pick, but if he seems good, sure).

@Warfish is totally right here.

And the Jets have Darnold under control contractually as well. In the absence of a big multi-year contract extension, if they really wanted to do so they could exercise his 5th year option and then franchise tag him a year after that (and again the year after that). More than an ample window if he was the goods, and frankly it’s a good amount less than letting this season play out as-is and then making some $35MM/year extension offer.

Never mind how ridiculous it is that - in a draft with only one purported “sure thing” QB that the draft will naturally go QB-QB at 1-2, then someone will trade up for a QB at #3, then another team will trade up for a QB at #4. Plus another a handful of picks later.

5 QBs drafted in the top 9 selections, including each of the top 4 selections, with 3 of them resulting from teams paying heavily to trade up for the opportunity as though 2021 is the last time any team will ever have to draft a QB before the big asteroid hits earth.

That’s not even realistic enough to use in a phony Draft Day movie. The asteroid part alone makes for a more realistic-feeling screenplay.

To be fair, he will post 17 more mock drafts.

Zach definitely looks like he’d fit right in here.

yeah that is all pretty shocking if believed. Really we trade down and get a haul, maybe even still pick a qb...
