jetstream23 31,678
Heard this idea on a local sports talk show. Seemed like an interesting way for the Cowboys to get out of the financial predicament with Dak and to choose a potential QB of the future at #2, letting Darnold start the season as starter. The Jets would be upgrading at QB, could probably afford Dak and still have a Top 10 pick. Not sure how I feel about paying Dak a ton. He’s a better starter than Darnold with no bust/development risk but he’s no Deshaun Watson. 2

Wit 280
It’s a bit risky with that injury he’s coming off. How does he play in the offense we will want to run?
Popular Post slimjasi 11,274
Nope. Not interested in trading for Dak.
OMA 24
No... I am not trading the #2 pick and the $ value it creates for a top 5 $ qb who is maybe the 15 best in the league coming off injury.
Popular Post JiFapono 151,419
Are you paying him 40 mil a year? If so, no. I'd just take Fields or Wilson if that's your preference.
The Crusher 221,903
He played really good on a team with an amazing line , weapons and great running game. Jets have none of that.
Flea Flicking Frank 152
OMG No, I'd rather trade 4 1's and every good player we have for Watson than that deal. And I want no part of giving up that much for Watson.

Why pay Zak $40 mil per year, if we can get Wilson or Fields for a 4 year rookie contract? We don't even know how Zak will be coming back from his injury.
section314 9,538
Good Lord no. There are two guys that we can pick at #2 that are better than Dak. The guy has had loaded teams and done squat.
peebag 7,606
Nope - with the offensive talent on that Cowboys team and what he hasn't accomplished, it's not a good sign.
johnnysd 8,159
Nope. People need to realize that we have a rare opportunity to take a QB at #2. There is risk, but the best way for us to truly be competitive is with an elite QB on a rookie salary.
Fantasy Island 3,958
I would make that trade, Dak is good.

Adoni Beast 4,548
No. I think Wilson will have a better career than Dak, and I’m not Dak hater. 1
chad2coles 246
I don't think this is a terrible option. Dak is one of the best QBs in the league when healthy and surrounded by talent. The Jets would still have the 10th pick, which they could trade back, or draft whichever pass catcher drops to 10. Sign Thuney to shore up the o-line and still have 2 1st round picks next year to work with. My first option is Watson, because I think he's a lot more talented and on a team friendly deal, but it's way more likely that Dak wins playoff games over the next 5 years than Lawrence, Fields, or Wilson. Icer 3,647
Dak is coming off a major injury and wants 40+ million a year. He's good, but not elite and I'm not giving them capital plus huge money

The reason I don't is Dak 100% wants a contract right behind what Mahomes got, and I'd really like to see how that ankle holds up before doing that massive of a deal. I don't trade for Dak without an extension in place, and I don't give him 300+ million without knowing how he does on his new ankle.

isired 3,014
The injury is a huge consideration. I don't think I'd actively put myself in the position of being the guy betting my career on that, and paying him what he's looking for.
Joe Jets fan 2,975
Always shows a lot about posters when answering a question like this. guy has had one of the best lines in the league with good weapons abd ain’t won sh*t. Now he coming off a terrible injury and wants too two QB money. Lol good luck

That and while I think Dak is a good player, I dont think he's great and he played on an absolutely stacked offense behind one of the best OL's for his entire career. Just dont think what he think he's worth, rather give a rookie a shot.
GreenFish 4,527
Only if he accepts a reasonable contract. Say 4yrs at $35M per year. And of course we’d have to check his medicals. Otherwise, draft a QB.
