No, he’s showing he can be a good interviewer and wants to make money.

Nobody actually wants to be a Jet. We’re in that Browns tier.

The right answer would be it would be a dream to be selected number one in the draft. Not a dream to be selected by the Jets!

Would you take 100k less a year to be the qb for the 9ers who are sitting at the 3 spot or take the 100k more for 4 years and be the qb on the Jets. That's the difference of salary between the 2 and 3 rd draft position.... tough decision

Wow I haven't heard a player say it would be a dream come true if the Jets pick me in a long time.  Of course to be politically correct players say it after a deal was done or after they were drafted but rarely before that fact.

I'm surprised this isn't being discussed. Are we turning the corner where players want to be a part of this franchise?

I think the player wants to be the second pick in the draft

It's  not the money. He as well as the whole world knows TL is locked in as the first pick. He wants to be thought of as the next best option. Do you think he wants to go after another player is thought to be better than him especially  with a team like the Jets that have a legit question at QB?

I don’t agree with this, I feel we are at the TOP of that tier so it’s officially the Jets tier now.

Quote

Wilson: " Would be dream come true"

Why? Was he a Jet Fan growing up? This is just stupid. Perhaps he means, being the #2 pick would be a dream come true, because unless he has some actual reason to want to be a Jet, it cannot be characterized a dream come true.

For example, Adam Fox playing for the NY Rangers coming from a family of lifelong Ranger fans who have season tickets is a Dream come true. Some kid from out west coming to play for a franchise that hasn't one anything in over 50 years and is not even the most successful NFL team that plays in its own stadium is not a dream come true.

I think this is right, but he also knows he's going to be a Jet at this point...

So say all the right things...It's no longer a hypothetical.

He does remind me of Greg Louganis if it weren’t for the blonde hair and two female prom dates?

Obviously he’s talking about being second pick or his family taught him to be way way too polite when taking to people.

Just being drafted is a dream come true probably.

Maybe for players like Wilson it would be a dream come true to turn the Jets into a contender. That player would be put on a pedestal like Namath.

I don’t totally blame op because the quote got butchered into an article, but the quote was very clearer a standard boring answer saying he’d be happy to be drafted by anybody.

Go to espn to listen to the answer.  It def. didn't get butchered

Couple of things here.

Of course it's a dream come true to be the 2nd pick in the NFL draft.  Here's a kid who was 3 star in HS.  Coming into junior season , becaue of injury, had to compete for starting job for a few weeks.  Now he's being compared to "a generational talent" in Lawrence.  Of course he's excited.

Also

He is from a large family, andHe is a very family orientated kid.  That's why he chose BYU over Utah.  To be closer to his family.

He mentioned in the interview that he has family in NY that he is close to, but doesn't get to see them much.  He knows he has to move to play, but is very happy that he has family in NY, and he can be close to them.

Yeah kids happy, his dream has come true.
